Risks of Electro stimulation

Hi,
I have a question about Electro stim in regards to this product http://www.pipedreamproducts.com/showdetail-20c.php?Full_Number=PD3723-0...

I've been curious about maybe giving this a try lately but I wanted to ask (esp the docs) if there could be any risks involved. Being a male, I've read comments about people saying it feels good if you put it on your shaft or on your balls. My main concern is, could putting this on your balls for a brief amount of time cause sterilization to any degree? Could putting it on your shaft also cause any problems or is this unit not strong enough to cause any damage?

Thanks!

This reminds me of a similar

This reminds me of a similar question a year or so ago. At the time I related my story in which my father discovered a hand-cranked generator in a small rectangular box. It was found in the junk room of an old Victorian house they purchased when I was a teen. A paper detailing the many "medicinal uses" was glued to the inside of the lid. Two tin tubes perhaps 4" long each were connect to the generator with wires. The tubes could be placed anywhere on a person's body, the crank turned, and electricity applied. A friend and I experimented with the device and were amazed that it would light a light bulb! The device was built sometime back in the early 1900's.

Quite frankly, it would tickle or generate pain depending upon how vigorous the crank was turned and where the probes were placed! A curiosity for certain, a real life tool for muscle problems, I don't think so, not to mention whatever ails a person.

I have no idea whether this device is safe or not. My guess is that it produces much less current than the device we played with, but anytime electricity is involved regardless of the voltages and currents involved there is a real risk of possible danger for a person. Now, having said that, I'd want to see proof that this device has been approved by some agency for sale.

UL Approved?

Have you tested the recipient's heart lately? Consider this as a kind of tazer and act accordingly.

I have never done electroplay

I have never done electroplay myself, so there's that. I know people who do engage in it. I looked up some of the electroplay groups on fetlife and while I did not find the product you ask about discussed I did find discussion of similar products. This is basically what is called a TENS unit. TENS stands for transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation. These devices have been around for decades and are considered one of the safe options for electrosex play. The model in question is low power, runs on batteries, channels isolated, and uses low duty cycle waveforms so it is considered safe. I notice that it is made in China. In general as a kinky sex educator I don't recommend products from China because of low quality and lack of concern for human safety in Chinese products; not that you are likely to be electrocuted by this toy. In this case I just doubt that it will last more than a few sessions before it breaks.

check the following for some ideas about TENS unit use.

I'm sure you'll both get a charge out of electrosex

Thanks for the replies! I

Thanks for the replies! I mainly asked this because everything I stated in the post is what I did to myself before I even posted. Was a little ashamed to admit it in the initial post. After I did it, I was a bit worried because I noticed a pressure right below my breast bone...me thinking the worst thought it was heart related when it in fact was acid reflux acting up. It never acted up in such a way before.

And now about the genital area, I still even now a couple weeks later occasionally notice irritation at the spot I applied it too on my shaft, my guess is that it burned it a little from "poor contact." Even though it hasn't really adversely effected my pleasure or ability to have sex to my knowledge, I wonder if it will completely heal. Its still a little red...maybe aloe might help even though it happened 3ish weeks ago.

And finally I was and still am a tad bit concerned about my balls since I applied them there. I "think" since the incident my balls feel harder than they used too but I am not sure. I've never payed too much attention down there to what has been normal and it could be my mind finding any little thing that might be wrong and blowing it out of proportion. I've had a vericocele and hydrocele when I was younger, not sure if those condition could cause problems with such stimulation.

I might end up seeing a Urologist for piece of mind but at least I'm not worried that I screwed up my heart. Curiosity killed the cat and I definitely won't be doing anything so stupid out of curiosity again :)

The Allure of Technology

Something new is not always "better" than your standard vibrator - although there's hardly a "standard vibrator" left to be found. They all seem to come with bells, whistles, flashing lights and whatnot. But if you're worried about "frying your balls" you may want to return to using one instead.
