Retailers Selling Adult Products?

Here's a new story about stores such as Walmart, Walgreens, and others that will now offer gels and in some cases..."massagers". Now kick starting your love life can get the discount treatment, :D

It's nice to know that access to same bare essentials is becoming easier. This can only make things better.

I picture the young wman who wants to explore things/herself sexually, but is far too timid to go to the adult store. This will allow her the chance to purchase desreetly.

Vibrators have been commonly available in European department stores for years. They may be advertised for sore necks but, really?

I don't know what its like in the US, but in Australia products such as condoms and lubricants are available in supermarkets. Vibrators and other sex related products are still only available from adult stores, though (at over inflated prices, of course).

Same in the U.S.

You can go to a Wal*Mart in the USA and get a small vibrator or a vibrating cock ring.

Really? which section are those in? I've never seen them haha

tescos do condoms and lube in the main store, of course it would help if they stopped moving them and leaving trolleys infront of them

The only adult products I've ever noticed Walmart selling is condoms, lube, and spermicide. I have seen the massagers at some other retailers though. :)

haha i havent noticed "massagers" at wal mart either (in canada). I'll have to check next time i go. Although i'm not particularly fond of walmart's giantness and really dont find their prices all that competitive despite what they claim to be.... that being said, as embarrassing as it is to go into a sex shop, if you happen to go into one with professional competent staff i'd feel alot better buying at the sex shop than cashing out in front of 28 families in a 25 minute line up lol , anyway, thats just me :P

Confidence confidence Nursey...........tall and proud. LOL

i don't need to be at walmart where some 6 year old kid will be like "what's that mommy" lol

oh but i did go to a sex shop a couple of weeks ago to buy stuff for my cousin's bachelorete party. I made my friend cash it out hehe :P

I personly do not shop a walmart but i was at a Sharper Image the other day and they had an intresting product. They now carry a 8" long, rechargable, water prof, vibrating back massager. I just thought it was kind of funny.

Yes, that is the Jimmy Jane Form 6 - one of their latest beauties. I found it quite amusing myself.

I just finished reading the article and I think at $36 each, it would be much cheaper to purchase one from an adult store. lol JMO

All I know is that they should get someone else to write the descriptions on the walgreens website. I mean RPM's and motor amps?

Actually, to some of us, that does mean something. lol

They also have all sorts of lube

I have seen the vibrating c*ck rings at places like WalMart and Walgreens for a while now. They are disposable and only last on average 20-30 mins.

On that note, if anyone is looking for something like this, it would be wiser to invest in a penis ring that has a removable bullet so that you can use a different bullet, whether it is corded or wireless is up to you; the big difference is that they will last a lot longer, the vibrations will be stronger and you don't have to throw it away after.

There was a little 'who-hah' in the news recently in England actually about Super-Drug now selling vibrators and having them all out on the shelf for all to see (rather typical of the English to find it outragous). I think if anything it's a good idea, it shows there in no shame in people going out and buying vibrators and other sex toys, instead of young and inexperienced people feeling as if they have to hide away as they enter a sex shop, (which so many of my friends have done. It's Ann Summer's who cares?

question for the men

All of the adult stores that I have been in I have been waited on by a woman, would you rather be waited on by a man? The only true time I was even semi uncomfortable was when a male customer was there the same time as me. Not that I really gave a hoot that this man saw me walk in grap the "massager" I had decided to buy and leave (I was in and out in 5 minutes) but it was kinda wierd. And kinda funny.

You know those machines on the wall that you find in bathrooms? That you can get candy, lip gloss, and *female emergency* stuff? Well, I'm seen a mini-vibrator in one of those, and I'm pretty sure I've seen condoms. LOL

The most "risque" items that I have seen available at my local Wal-Mart are the condoms with vibrating cock ring and the Durex Play Lubricants. The lubricants really aren't "risque" at all. Just the name might be a tad "risque" to some people. It isn't to me. I wish our local Wal-Mart would carry the Wet Lubricants. They make some really good lubricants (I got a sample pack from them once). I would also like to see vibrators at our local Wal-Mart. Unfortunately, I don't expect to see that anytime soon.

it's still better to buy discreetly on the internet.... i couldn't picture out myself
buying sex stuff in the open....

I would feel weird buying my sex stuff at Wal-Mart.. for one thing I don't tend to shop there for anything else, and I would also feel more embarrassed buying those things along with people out buying "regular" stuff. In a sex shop, you know everybody is there for more or less the same reason, so why be embarrassed? Thats the last place other customers are going to judge you for buying a vibrator lol or whatever else suits your fancy ;) Also there is a local shop that I just absolutely adore, its actually quite a classy place that is owned by this really nice and helpful older woman. They have a huge variety of stuff, including a line of locally produced and organic sensual bath items and edible body oils and dusts. Its a mainly female oriented place, so it makes for a great "girls day out" shopping trip :D I've never once felt uncomfortable there. I wish there were more places like it. I don't see any Wal-Mart or pharmacy store ever being that way at all.

This is new?? I could've sworn I had always seen them in the Sexual Health aisle.. or sometimes called Planned Parenthood

Raez, have you ever been to a toy party? I'm not an agent so I'm not going to post it here, but I have been to a few. And it is hilarious to see all the reactions of "your" girlfriends when you want a further explaination, or get a closer look at the products. You leave with an urge to get to your partner.

Haha SOC, yes I have been to a toy party. It really was a lot of fun with my group of close girlfriends, we are all pretty open about sex so it was funny to take a step back and observe all these girls waving dildos and other naughty things around whilst sipping cocktails like its totally normal lol. Afterward I was on the phone with my boyfriend telling him about all the things that I saw and liked. It resulted in a spontaneous midnight rendezvous, which is particularly crazy for us since he lives in the next state over. muwahahaaaa

They are fun.....

i agree with you, in a sex shop, the people in there are in there for the same reason you are and there is no reason to be embarassed. i would hate to go to wal-mart and grab a "vibrator" of the shelf go to the check out line and run into a my mom or a family member. or even a bunch of young kids.

there is no reason to be embarassed of the XXX shops. the girls or guys who work behind the counter stare at this stuff all day and deal with customers all day. i have friends who work in a sex shop and they said after a few days working in the store you begin not to judge people on what they buy. it becomes like selling food or clothes.

Passion Parties AK

I do In Home Parties for women. It's called a Passion Party. I come into a hostesses house where she has invited all of her friends and do a presentation of Adult Products. It is clean, private, and confidential. After my presentation ladies come into the ordering room and ask any questions they may have and make their order privately. I have found many women to like this much better because it is more comfortable and personable than going into a public store.
