To my understanding the vagina increases in length to make room for longer penises. But exactly at what point does this happen? Does it happen during foreplay, right before intercourse, or does it increases only if the penis is actually penetrating within the vagina and the member happens to be above the "default" vaginal length?

Well, maybe you should read my response to your other post.
Also, fornix is not a "thing" that moves; it refers to the space. It could be said that it is the fornix that is enlarging.
During sexual arousal, this occurs. This could be masturbation or arousal by another involving genital stimulation or simply "heavy petting." The clitoris becomes erect, vaginal juices flow and the vagina becomes elongated and balloons. It is simply the female body getting ready to accept a penis.
We have each had someone "hit bottom." If this directly hits the cervix, that can be uncomfortable; otherwise, not much matters. In some rare cases, an overy can be stuck and that is about like you being kicked in the balls. This "over-depth" situation usually involves position more than penis length/vaginal depth. If a woman is crouched someway, the "balloon" is partially collapsed. Muscle tensing, for movement, may have the same effect. For the most part, we do not really notice the depth. Because the vaginal walls have no nerve endins, they really feel nothing. The sense of depth that we get is from pressure on the external genitals, sliding through the muscular entrance and pressure on internal organs.
Well, I ask for the following reason. I've read that its possible to stimulate the fornix with one's finger. But I question this because I feel like by the time my finger enters the vagina the vagina will have lengthened due to arousal with the fornix being really far away, much farther than its regular 3 - 4 inches distance AWAY from vagina exterior.

aah, I see. So it is the FORNIX that enlarges, then there shouldn't be any problem. Though that does seem to suggest that length of penis would matter, cause a longer penis would let you stimulate the fornix.
