If this has already been talked about on another friend, i'm sorry and hopefully someone could re-route me...but i was wondering what the deal is when a girl has her period, isn't there a day or two afterwards where you can have sex and she can't get pregnant? Also, isn't there a time when she is more likely to get pregnant? thanks...:)

Question about a girl's period

Okay, never rely on a woman's cycle to prevent pregnancy. Ovulation can occur at anytime, although in a perfect world with perfect cycles it would be fine! Typically a woman has to be at the point of ovulation but there is no guaranteed times.
Don't chance it, there is no real "safe time" to not use BC, unless she is already pregnant.
Sera's right, women's cycles (especially younger women) aren't perfect.
Even once we are older and have a regulated cycle...anything can throw it off, like stress, diet, sickness.
Also, you have to consider that sperm can sometimes live in the girl's body for several days.
So even if you pinpointed that she would ovulate on day X but you had sex a few days before that...there could be a sperm lingering around by then.
hmm ok thank you...that was some sort of "myth" i had heard a while back, and my girlfriend and i talked about it today and wondered if we could have sex without the condom...but i guess we shouldn't chance it...thanks again
You can have sex with out a condom when ever you want.... You ALWAYS have chance of making a baby. The reason why I say always is because you might never hit it exactly.
Use a condom. Don't avoid using a condom, even if she takes pills.
I hate to say this in midst of women that probably would not lie.. but anyone can lie, women are NOT perfect and just because they say they are on the pill does not mean they won't forget to take it, or that they ever take it.
Listen to your brain..
Not only can you ovulate at random times during your cycle, you can also ovulate more than once.
And keep in mind, sperm can live in a woman for 5 or so days. So there's really no "safe" days. There are just days that you are more likely to get pregnant than others. Which would be during ovulation...but who knows when that happens?!?! So really it's not worth the risk.
THERE IS NO TIME THAT IS COMPLETELY SAFE!!!!!!
Generally, mid-month is the easiest time to become pregnant but women have become pregnant on every day of the month including during heaviest flow.
