I think it's very good to post warnings on sexting!

These youngsters trust the person they send it to, but are unaware of the cruel intentions. And let's not forget the boys and girls that forward it to their friends and classmates or put this stuff on the net think it's "just a joke". That's one of the tricky things of being young; many fail to see the longterm consequences of their actions. Forgetting that this stuff spreads faster than a chainreaction and becomes undeletable. That's why it could turn a life into a drama!

It happens between kids (far) below 18 as well. In various countries both you and the friend that forwarded can even be trialed for distributing child pornography.

And personally; I think that anyone above the age of 25 may also think quite a few times before engaging in sending and making pictures or tapes. There are revenge-sites on which people post such material. Cause yes; adults too lack sense of judgment. They are sad and angered and try to hurt their (ex-)partner, because they feel so hurt themselves. Maybe they later apologize, knowing they've acted foolish. But that doesn't make it deletable.

* Girl and boy date
* Boy and girl fool around
* Girl decides to send one or more photos of herself
for boy to place on his desk, nightstand, or in his wallet
* Boy is proud of his girlfriend and the thoughts of her
he has every time he looks at her picture(s) and/or shows
a picture to family and friends
* Girl likes making out and wants to tantalize boy to go
farther
* Girl sends nude self portraits of herself to boyfriend
* Boyfriend is both intrigued and titillated and wants to share
those pictures with a friend
* Friend likes what he sees and considers the provocative
photos as erotic art and decides to shares with one or more
of his friends
* More friends share with more friends and before anybody is
aware, the girl's innocent act is known and the results seen
all around school
* Cliques of girls see pictures and become vindictive for
whatever reason and decide to demean the girl in the photo(s)
with the end result more often than not causing harm to her
image and self esteem
* Cliques of boys see pictures and become aroused by the
photo(s) and decide to try and hit upon the girl either in
person or through E-mail or texting (sexting?)

Need I go further?

Teens are unable to predict the consequences of their actions because their brains are not yet fully developed. The part of the brain that gives them the ability to see around corners and understand the potential harm in what they might want to do will not be "on line" until sometime after they reach 22 y/o.

A word to the wise: Fellas, what is meant for "your eyes only" must be respected and not shared no matter what the motive or intent. What one of you might think as something cute to do can have long term damaging consequences.

absolutely you are right thank you for your effort.

There are lots of people who are fond of sending pictures and messages but aside form that some would rather send nude photos just for fun. They just don't think what others are thinking of them if they do that kind of thing. There's also a news about a 32-year-old woman quit her job and turned herself in to authorities Tuesday. She was a science instructor at the East Aurora High School in Illinois. She was allegedly "sexting" explicit images of herself to one of her students, a 15-year-old boy.
