My girlfriend is on the birth control patch, so does that mean that I don't need to wear a condom. We're both clean when it comes to STD's and everything like that.

it depends.
thats the purpose of it but its still 99% effective I think, same as the pill.
has to be used correctly. both pill and patch to be that effective.
Demonbuttercup is correct. The only 100% sure method of birth control is just don't do "it". Using multiple methods decreases the likelihood that you'll end up with an unwanted pregnancy.
About STDs... (I really don't want this to be taken as offensive) Personally, if I were not in a long-term relationship- and I'm talking two or more years- I'd protect myself. Just search the number of topics on "Is my boy/girlfriend cheating" and see that this always comes as a surprise. You might be right in that this is not an issue with you- but, remember, it could be your life that you are gambling with.
