POSTING GUIDELINES

Please note the following guidelines:

- check out the site to see if the information is already posted

- review posts under existing topics in each forum before creating new (possibly repetitive) topics.

- be as clear & concise as possible when naming describing your topic/post. *

- take the time to re-read your post; make sure it reads logically and legibly. Common abbreviations are fine, but please use proper English & refrain from pure slang and/or immature language. If the post is long, break it up into paragraphs to make it more readable.

The answer to your question may well already be here. You are much more likely to get helpful responses to specific questions once you've done your homework.

A reminder - relevant explicit language is acceptable, crudity and profanity are not.

Good Board etiquette is just part of mutual respect for each other.

Februaru 2007 - In the last two months and with a few new members, the proferred humour has taken on a nasty and offensive tone. I called one on racist and sexist comments. Now I must add that comments on body types are equally offensive - in the manner presented.

Many comments are off-handed and evidently intended to be humour. Many of them come across as sophomoric and offensive. The previous post talks about mutual respect. One of the reasons I have participated here for so long is that the Board is intended to help but not to encounter locker room banter.

My advice to you would be to take it with a grain of salt. I have worked in a male oriented community for the last year and have found those types of comments will never stop. However, you can call them on it, and kill them with kindness or just make like a duck and let it roll off the back.

there really should be a tool applied to this board that when a new member signs up, they can only post 24hrs later and be limited to 5 posts at first..

As a new member, id like to know why?
Im a Moderator on a differnt forum (car forum) and i could not imaging limiting our new members
Im sure this forum is alitte different then someothers simply due to its nature. I cant see why you would want to not allow a new member to make a post, since most will likly have been "lurkers" for a while before finaly signing up, and most sign up because the have a question or comment that they feel they need to get out.

Or they just log off for 24 hours and then log to post some the same dumb questions, hahaha.
I agree, but there is a lot of information to sort through. And patience is a virtue very few have.

Not to worry, really. We are good boys and girls and generally tend to play well with others.

If you have taken the time and interest to read through the various posts in the Board Notices section then you are aware of the caveats that make some of us growl now and then. The purpose of this site is to provide information in order to raise awareness, improve knowledge and skill, confidence, and as a result, relationships; reduce angst, and, self doubt.
