Hi everyone. I just started birth control (Ortho Tri Cyclen LO) about a month ago (My first placebo week just started yesterday).
About a week and a half into it, I started noticing a change in my discharge. It was white almost all the time (I'm used to periods of white and clear), and slightly thicker. But it wasn't a huge difference, so I didn't give it much thought, and I havn't really paid any attention to it since then.
I just noticed earlier today that my discharge is completely not normal. It's the discharge that everyone describes when they have a yeast infection: that thick, ricotta cheese-like thing. But I don't itch, and there's no burning when I urinate, so is it still possible that it could be a yeast infection? If not, what else could it be? By the way, I've never had a yeast infection before.
I do plan on calling my gyno tomorrow to make an appointment, but since I probably won't be able to get in immediately, I just wanted some opinions.

There is generally an itchy feeling but not always early on, if it does not look right or has a foul (abnormal) smell get a check up by the doc.
The change in hormones, however slight, can affect the discharge. The fact that you have no itching brings yeast under question but with no smell, bacterial infection is not likely. More likely adjustment to the pill. Some women have what you describe and it goes away after a month or so. It is worth discuccing with the prescriber.
