Just bought my first butt plug

I just bought my first butt plug yesterday, and I had some question regarding it. The butt plug is just over an inch in diameter at its widest point and about 5 inches long. I previously stimulated myself with household items, but that was a long time ago, so I figured this would be a good size. Anyway, when I tried it last night, it was giving me some discomfort when I stood up with it fully inserted. Is this normal? Did I purchase one that is too long?

Discomfort, esp if not using lubricants, is to be expected with any new item.

5" is not to long as long as it is a soft, flexible one. Always wash it before & after using it. Add some lube to make it more comfortable.

idk how u did it but the easiest most painless way would be to lay on your back and bring your knees to your chest and then spread them. just like having sex normally. i hope this helps.
