That's a real concern for many people. There are two things to try:

1) Get past the issue by knowing that some might be part of the act - just accept it for what it is. I mean, if you think about it, lots of body fluids are not so appealing in certain ways, so a bit of poop can be the same. You can try a condom for starters to keep a barrier and that might help alleviate things.

2) Try an enema. This is a great way to clean yourself throughly before you have anal sex. It's a bit of trouble, but it could be a great way to start things off. If you don't want to go through all the trouble of that, make sure you feel empty, you're not gassy that night (no bowl of turnips before bed!) and you clean well in the shower. You can actually use your finger inside your anus in the shower - without soap - to get a clean feeling.

Reading through the posts I've noticed quite a few women saying that anal is a great alternative when they're menstruating - I find this bizarre as if you and your partner are happy with practicing anal sex then why go prudish about vaginal intercourse when menstruating?

Me and my BF both enjoy making love when I'm menstruating - I get hyper sensitive and horny as hell during that time and chatting to my close mates about it they said they did too. We've had some really intense sex during this time..

I realise a lot of guys feel squeamish about this but the more I thought about it the more I didn't get it - so I just came straight out with my thoughts to my BF one day and said "ok so you don't mind the potential messyness etc involved with anal but you get shy about a bit of blood - what's that about?" and when he thought about it he agreed and we tried it and haven't looked back since

Infact instead of thinking of it as "the curse" it's now become just another part of our sex lives..lol

Obviously it's all about what your both comfortable with but why rule it out? Next time your heading that way cos your menstruating..maybe give it a thought..and as with everything - hygiene and protection is a must! On that note I've noticed something quite cool happens when I get really turned on, my natural lubricant seems to take over and stops the other fluid temporarily anyway so it actually isn't as messy as you think it'll be

Im new to anal and I would like to know just how important condoms are? Ill be having anal with my girlfriend, her and i are both totally clean of STDs. I know condoms are important to an extent, but i would also like try anal without them, just to know what it fully feels like.

Be certain of the std thing. Be certain she is using birth control either a pill or spermicide in case any semen leaks to the vaginal area. Worse thing w/skipping condoms (beyond the std) is hygiene. Make certain after anal not to come in contact w/the vag. area due to cross contamination. Be certain you void and wash really well afterwards to limit your chance for infection.

Personally, I would be more concern with hygiene on both parts. My husband and I have thought about this and I would feel much better if he wore a condom so nothing bad happens to either of us, although I would like it without. It's just a matter of safety of both over pleasure. However, spermicides and a pill are both important, as sera said, if you're not wanting children.

Well there are definately some of us girls who do like anal also. Personally, it just goes along with sex. If im having sex, there is going to be some kind of anal stimulation. Now the reason most chicks don't dig anal is cuz they're too scared, yes i've had bad moments too, the trick is to just allow it (if it's something you want to try and are into, don't ever force anyone to do anything they arent comfy with). go with the flow, you just might find out that you like it, a lot!!!
