The tongue is not normally pushed out day-to-day quite as extremely as when giving oral, especially if pentrating with the tongue.

It is possible that the piece of skin under the tongue may stress-tear if you go at it too forcefully. However that should heal up.

Cuts and tears in the mouth are a problem in that (apart from being painful), they can assist in the transmission of STD's. Unless you are sure of your partner's sexual history, this a good reason when doing oral to use a dental dam (on women) and a condom (on men).

What we are (and aren't) supposed to put in our mouths is largely a matter of custom and upbringing. Some Europeans eat horse, North Americans generally don't, some people won't eat pig, some will eat snake (they consider them a delicacy) - and on and on. What is a tasty snack in one person's opinion is yuck in anothers. No big deal.

My point is; don't let preconceptions and other people's narrow-mindedness limit your options. Be open-minded to all possibilities, but don't ever feel you have to eat/drink anything, whether it be vaginal fluid, pre-cum, semen or period fluid. I know where I draw the line - but that's my line.

Consider everything, then draw your own line where you feel comfortable, and don't expect your partners line to be the same as yours. If they like to swallow something and you don't (or vice-versa) - so be it. Let each enjoy what they like - it shouldn't be tit-for-tat! This isn't a question of right or wrong, it's a question of choice.

its weird, i personally wouldnt have a problem with going down on my girlfriend during her period but she doesnt want me to. it took ages for her to actually understand that i didnt have any problems touching her during her period. she was very self-concious. im not sure if its a trust thing or what but once she realised i really didnt mind she enjoyed it. likewise with sex. but i dont know what it is about me going down on her, oh well, i just listen to her.

WOW! Who ever whould have thought oral sex would have prompted THIS kind of feverish discussion. So, I guess I'll chime in!

Now, remember, i've been with women and men, so i've performed oral sex on both.

First, i don't think you can make an argument about oral sex on a man and oral sex on a woman during her period. Because menstruation is a natural and normal function and most have no control over it's duration or intensity. If a man's penis blead for 5 or 6 days everymonth, the vast majority of folks would NOT perform oral sex on him during his period, and I think the same applies for performing oral on a woman during her period.

That said, It's my belief that swallowing is a decision. If you read all the comments it's about taste, consistency, smell, etc. Well, c'mon folks, we eat sushi, brussel sprouts, tofu, oysters and other funky foods that feel, smell and taste weird, but we aquire a liking of them!

What's also amazing is that men who do NOT like performing oral on a woman for the same reson a woman does not swallow (smell, taste, consistency, etc of vaginal fluid) are scoffed at by their male friends. See, it's EXPECTED that a guy should not only WANT to perform oral on his female lover, but should LIKE IT!

I will admit, i was not the biggest fan of performing oral on my wife, but, because it gave her SOOO much pleasure, i focused and did it with passion and conviction.

However, my wife did NOT like performing oral on me to completion. She would suck and lick like there was no tomorrow, but she said that because her first boyfriend had grabbed her head and forced her to swallow, she had always since been turned off by the idea of swallowing. Was that fair, nope. Did i have a choice? Nope. Did i deal with it over our 12 years together and in the end she DID swallow and enjoy it? YES!

So, to me, performing oral sex IS a decision. Voicing your likes and dislikes are important things to share with your lover, but you also owe it to him/her to always be trying to get past your initial perceptions and work towards what will please them.

I used to HATE eating oysters, but over time, i came to enjoy them once i got past MY perceptions of the feeling and consistency of the food. I think this can also be applied to oral sex.

Well, i don't expect oral sex during my period, but I'm not that big on oral sex anyway. My boyfriend loves doing it, but I prefer manual stimulation. I've never tried it with a tampon in, though it's funny I came across this board today, because just a few days ago, I was fresh from the shower and wearing a tampon and my boyfriend had no qualms about giving me analingus.

My man doesn't like going down on me while on my period. I don't blame him personally, and wouldn't expect him too. But we have a few times have ahd sex with a tampon in, I personally get worried sometimes...lol... but we always manage to check.

well I agree with everybody about cleanliness!!! Me whenever I made love with my gf I always suggest that for us to take a bath first, coz honestly the vagina taste so good after taking a bath and it won't bother you especially the smell...
