I'd have to disagree. While yes, self-destructive behaviour does require help, bruising is not symptomatic of self-destruction.

The mistake seems to be, linking bruising to a certain level of pain. As I'm sure you're aware, different people bruise at different rates. For all we know, she could be bruised very, very easily, and so saying she enjoys being bruised merely means that she enjoys slightly rough sex.
