My husband and I got waxed yesterday..... OUCH!!!! Don't let anyone fool you, it hurts. The woman who did us says that the first time is the worst because the hair is thick and there are old and new hairs. The good part was that it stopped hurting when she was done. She says we should go back every three weeks for a while but that eventually we will have to do it less and less.

I am surprised that there has been little mention of razor burn and ingrown hairs... I would love to shave myself but it ends up looking worse because I get ingrown hairs and red bumps! I used a new shaver, lathered up and "went with the grain" but to no avail! Any suggestions?

Bleh, i duno i like the "feel" of being shaved... but.. i feel like a child. and i think it looks stupid/funny, and for a man and woman, trimmed is great *thumbs up* because, if its not long enough to be a forest, or whatever, its perfect, not only that its natrual... and for guys, i think it looks funny... when they have that shaved, same with girls... reminds me of children, and thats not cool. when you feel/see the pupic hair, it reminds you, you are adult, you have maturity... and i duno that makes me feel sexy, knowing im a "woman" that and it hurts like a bitch, if you have super sensitive skin and a bunch of alergies, so its dangerious to try different creams and so forth.

But for trimming, how close to you suppose you should go for trimming? so its how long? the hair.. that is..

Hey all, I've got a question. *Me and my girlfriend have been together for a while and I finally went down on her a month ago. *It was awsome but the hair kept getting in the way. *I basically just told her that I thought I could do so much more down there if she shaved and she didnt' believe me but tried it anyway....I was right . That was about a month ago. *I figured, she did something for me, why not do something for her. *I shaved for the first time about a few days ago and, well, it didn't go as I'd hoped. *It made me get all these little red bumps where the hairs are and I think even some ingrown ones too. *Along with this is did burn a little (razor burn). Anyway, I tried it again toady and the same thing happened again. Any input on this would be very helpful, thanks all. Oh yea, by the way, girls shaven are a MAJOR turn on.

I posted this in the OTHer/Shaving 101 thread. You might give it a try-

I recently tried an aftershave balm and it seems to work pretty well. If you're so inclined to try it to battle the razor rash, it's called Nivea for Men (Sensitive) After Shave Balm- Vitamin Enriched. I use it a couple times a day following the shave and it has greatly reduced the itching and redness.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own stock in Nivea and have no ties to the company or product.

How long does it normally take for the redness to stop when shaving. I've been doing it for just over a week now and the red bumps are still present. I've tried baby oil and to no avail. Any more help here would be great.

I personally prefer having my bikini area either shaven or waxed, and my pubic hair trimmed.

It looks neater, sexier, and you can wear sexy bathing suits and lingerie without having hair exposed in places it shouldn't be.

It shouldn't be any different than getting a haircut, shaving your legs, or putting on lotion to soften your skin......It's called "grooming".

It also helps prevent your partner from the occasional choking on a pubic hair.

But all in all, I believe.........Do whatever you feel most comfortable with, it's your body!

A smooth, hairless vulva is probably my biggest visual turn on. I don't understand why having a beard down there makes some of you feel like more of a woman. It should be obvious without looking between your legs. However, cute designs are a turn off for me. If you just trim the hair, it will look neat and clean, but not as sexy.

About shaving the scotum, I've done it several times and haven't cut myself yet. It's not as delicate as you'd think.
