I have very strong and very dark hair growth and to keep it smooth I really do need to shave every day. I first shaved in February and have tried various things since then. I tried home waxing but found it too difficult.

Best thing I have found is an electric shaver called Seiko Cleancut which was apparently intended for the face but now sells more for pubic shaving. It will only shave very short stubble so is good for daily shaving and works better with a light dusting of talc. Also works well on underarms.

If I haven't shaved for a couple of days the Cleancut can't cope with it so I soak in the bath for ten minutes then, sitting on the side of the bath and using a mirror, I shave using a regular ladies razor and a shave gel that contains aloe. I have searched the internet for advice on this and the advice that is out there seems to be correct. Use a new blade. Shave in the direction of hair growth. Don't repeatedly shave the same area, try for one sweep. When you have shaved as much as you can like this, if there are stubborn areas remaining then shave against the growth. That should give a nice smooth finish.

Since doing it this way the results have been good and bumps, itching minimal. I think for me the key is the soak in the bath to soften it all and shaving in the right direction.

After shaving I pat dry (rather than rub) and use a product called Cool Ya which is sold to use after waxing but works well after shaving too. I am interested in the deodorant idea and will definitely give that a try.

Personally I like to be completely bald but if not then definitely closely trimmed. Naturally mine is a bit of a jungle and I hate it.

As far as guys go, I like them bald but its not such a big deal to me.

Someone earlier said that they had never been taught to trim. I wonder if anyone has. It was a subject never discussed with my mother. However my 13 year old daughter was moaning about hating her pubic hair so I bought her a trimmer and explained how to use it. She was absolutely stunned and asked if it was ok for her to do that. I told her "it's yours and you decide what you want to do with it". She now trims regularly.

Very important. I tried shaving with a week-old razor once, as I was in a hurry. It was quite painful, and left tons of bumps and nicks.

I air dry while I'm shaving my face and finishing my daily routine. No irritation whatsoever from that.

For me, I wax. It last at least 2 weeks, and I don't have to bother with it until the end of those 2 weeks. If you can suck it up and start waxing, I'd say go for that! Eventually it thins out and starts to not grow as fast. {I hear that eventually it won't come back for months} I'm not at that point yet though. The only thing you have to be on the lookout with this are those darn ingrown hairs.

Waxing is a LOT smoother than shaving is, and if you do get red bumps it's only the day of the waxing. My guy definitely preferred me with waxing over shaving {because of how fast the hair grows back with shaving it tends to leave those little sharp hairs within the next 24 hours!}

In one of my past sexual experiences with a girl {loved her to death but damn...} I swear she hadn't shaved in that region at all. I guess to some that's sexy, but for me that's not at all a turn on. I don't want to have to worry about getting hairs all in my throat and have to hack it back up. {that's all I seemed to do} So instead of enjoying pleasing her, I was hacking my throat sore.

The majority of the world prefers a smooth surface...

I prefer to go bare myself. Used to leave a little patch above the penis, but once when I was waxing it seemed to be more trouble than it was worth so I just waxed the entire area and took everything off. Kept it that way all summer. Still don't know if waxing is worth it. Gives me about two solid weeks without hair and when it does start to grow back it is not as prickly or thick. But then I need to wait a few weeks for it to be long enough to wax again.I still need to shave the scrotum because the area I tried waxing did not work and took skin off with the hair (ouch). Love the feel of being bare.

Bald is beautiful!

I prefer to keep myself completely bald...I think it feels better and looks better. Much more sexy looking at skin than hair, and I feel cleaner. My bf has started to trim, much better for me.

I don't shave. I shaved once not long after I was introduced to shaving my legs, and my pubic hair grew in. It itched so horribly! I never did it again. I even hate shaving my legs, I almost never do it anymore. I think actual hair feels much better than stubble, even very small stubble. Not to mention that I have no spare energy to spend on constantly shaving, it seems such a nuisance to me. My boyfriend doesn't shave either, and neither of us mind having to fish a few hairs out of our mouths in medias res.

You don't shave your legs?!?! That's just abnormal to me lol. The first time you shave your pubic hair, it isn't going to be smooth the next day. Its something you have to get accustomed to. You might just have really sensitive skin.

As far as if we appreciate it, personally it's a real turn on for me and I'm sure it is for most men too.

I have a question for you now atomic, don't you or women in general like their man to be trimed or shaved and do you ladies appreciate it?

I definitley appriciate that my bf trims himself up. I don't find completely shaven men much of a turn on though. I don't mind it, but I like a little bit down there.
