Hey I'm quite new here and I've heard people talk of boils on and around their genitalia region but is it normal to get pimples on the shaft of the penis? If so, roughly how long should it take for it to go away? Also in case it's significant, I'm 16 and Ive been sexually active for about 2 years.

Yeah, this happened to me too, and 'm definitely wondering. I have a bunch of those, and two that have actually grown the the point where they hurt. One ended up going away and it looks kinda like a small scar now. What the hell is up with this?

What you hear people speak of are cysts. Very different from what you are describing. Having pimples (similar to what you get on your face) on the shaft is not the norm, are you using condoms? You should get it checked out by a doctor to rule out a STD, allergy, irritation, rash, etc.
I don't mean like lot's of pimples, just like a white head?
When I shave i get pimples around the area that I shave. It's such a pain & doesnt look very nice. They're only small white bumps under the surface though.
Its white dots under the skin. Once 1 got a big bigger & stuff came out of it. But that only happens if i get razor drag. Not very nice.

White bumps on your shaft are normal, its just hair follicles. If they *are* pimples though, you either need to wash more after sex/in general, or maybe see a doctor about them.

Yea. It doesn't happen often, but when you DO get noe.. espcially the read ones that don't come quite to a head and hurt if you try to pop 'em.
I had one on the back of my ear, once too... and more than once on my forehead >>

I got them aswell, had them when I started puberty, wouldn't say it's anything to do with being dirty. There not spots on the penis there just like stuck under the skin, I tried poppin one but it just never works cos it hurts to much...
Anyone have ideas as to what they actually are?
I believe they are secondary to the sebaceous glands where hair follicles are. Not 100% certain but pretty sure...And they are normal.
I had one once... I think, and it was really annoying me, so squezed it and it hurt like hell! It went away on its own accord.

They can continue to build up with secretions and some either can enlarge or they become infected. Most likely the next trip to your doc mention them.
Hey, i have had those little tiny bumps on my penis ever since i started puberty so reading this i'm guessing they are hair thingies, but also, i too have had a "pimple" on my shaft before, although i am in a sexual realtionship now, i've had them before when i hadn't even kissed a girl, i have a quite spotty face and very rarely (like once a year, maybe not even that) if i get a "pimple" down there i squeeze it and it pops just like a normal spot (sick..) so i'm guessing it could just be antural seeing as i was frigid then and so theres no chance of an std = )
