Has anyone of you tried this one? Philips-Warm Sensual Massager*
I've tried this little http://www.sexinfo101.com/forum/sex-toys-products/28609-duckie.html before, but it was too hard, too much vibration and cold :( So maybe this is something for me :) I've held this Philips-thingy in my hand at the local sexshop and it can vibrate softly and has a nice touch to it... Haven't felt it heated yet.
So I'm just looking for opinions/experiences, before I'll spend me money. Any replies very welcome! :)
*Link update 01-28-2011: It apparently is deleted from the UK site of Philips, so this site is only in Dutch: [url=http://www.philips.nl/c/intimiteit/om-samen-te-genieten-hf8410_00/prd/nl... - Warme sensuele stimulator om samen te genieten - HF8410/00 but does give you an impression of what it looks like

"Velly interestingk." What will they think of next?
looks like it's very worth the price....not to mention that you can get away with using it as a sex toy...hmmm, now i'm looking into this too... :D
except the U.S is lame, it's not for sale in this country...
> Question
Anyone have tips on how they use vibrations on their clit?
My experiences with vibrators are limited to two: the Hitachi "Wand" and the Wahl "Coil" with interchangeable heads.
Using either on the clitoris was done by cupping the head with the palm of my hand, extending one or two fingers, and letting the vibrations go thru the fingers to the clitoris. Works well I've been told....
So, my Duckie broke down and my bf got me one of these as a gift. How about I present you all with a first impression review? :) It's a vibrator for two, but I've tried it first all by me oncy.
Material & functions
Nice packaging, that you really have to fold open; a tiny adventure of unfolding secrets :) I got the special package with 3 extra candlelights for romantic evenings. No storagebag or sleeves however. A tiny tube of silicone lube is provided for (not much my taste of lube, but a nice gesture). Both silicon or waterbased lubes can be used.
The vibrator is pebble-shaped, cupped underneath. The cup fits in a bowl that is the charger. A nice design. The shape fits nicely in the palm of your hand. The material is hard, but almost velvet-like to the touch. It has 3 vibrating points; tip, top and bottom. It has 5 intensity levels and 5 vibration modes in which only the tip vibrates, tip-to-top, top-to-bottom, tip-to-bottom, all three in turn.
Before use
There was a bit of a sour smell to it straight out of the package... Both the charger and vibrator need to be cleaned thoroughly before use. Charger can only be padded with a wet cloth and dried before use (ready within a few minutes). It's easy to clean. The pebble is waterproof. It can stay in water up to an hour(!) With a bit of soap; all done. And after one wash, smell is gone.
It takes 10 hours to charge for use, 24 hours for using it to a maximum of 2 hours. You could preheat it in about 5 minutes. I thought the intensity of heat was a bit disappointing and not much distributed over the entire pebble, just the cupped part underneath...
Experience first use
I found that with the lowest intensity, it was pleasurable to just hold the cupped part against my labia. Especially cause that part was already nice and warm. I soon found the pebble becomes warm by bodyheat easily. I hardly needed to use lube, as it got my natural juices flowing steadily. I tried the vibrations on my breasts-arms-stomach, but did not like this much, especially cause the "noise" comes closer. Even though while using in between my legs, the sound is almost not detected at the lowest speed.
Once you start with an "in turn"-mode, noise increases. The tip-to-top is nice cause it seems to pause a little longer at the tip. The other modes were just too fast and gave me more the impression of a carousel in which none vibrates long enough to fit my senses ;) Plus: because the vibrator lies nicely in your hand, even high intensity vibes won't make your hand feel numb.
I've used it over en hour and there was no loss in intensity. I became very much aroused and very wet, but I couldn't climax. I guess that clit-stimulation with a vibrator is not much for me. I either don't feel much, my clit goes numb or goes into hiding. The best position for my clit was lying on my side with the tip against my clit and top between my labia and legs closed. Very enjoyable, but only hovering on a "plateau-feeling". I can imagine that it could be orgasmic when your lover lies behind you (spooning) and penetrates (vaginal or anal).
What I did love: lying on my back, putting the tip at the entrance of my vagina and the top in between my labia, giving my clit attention with my finger. This was jackpot! I also like being on all fours the pebble in between my buttocks, the tip towards the anus and bottom somewhere at my perineum and vagina-entrance. Again with a little finger-to-clit-action I orgasmed.
First Impression
Overall; a nice little toy. Impressive how long it can be used without dropping in intensity. Good build-up in intensity levels. Nice and warm to the touch and easy to hold. Disappointing: preheat, vibrating modes, don't think you could really use it for massaging other bodyparts. Let's call it a 7.5 out of 10. Maybe I'll raise it when I've experimented more ;)

Most of the vibrators work by spinning a weight. Smaller ones have smaller weights and generally spin much faster to make up for less movement. The one you have falls in the middle between a pocket rocket and general purpose vibe like the Hitachi Doc mentioned. It has quite a varied shape so you can try changing which part of it is resting on your clit as well as the amount of pressure you apply to see if there's much of a difference in the movement.
Those things move pretty fast, usually between 2-10 thousand rpm(yours peaks at 5700), and the pleasure provided can easily mask any minor discomfort from the repeated rubbing. A small amount of lube such as coconut oil before you start can go a very long way to preventing numbness, soreness, or your clit running away, which is typical of overstimulation.
A unique thing about the vibes is that because of that speed, the skin doesn't move together nearly as much as with normal human movements, instead pulling and pushing on itself at all sorts of angles depending upon how much the vibe is moving and how fast so many more nerves are stimulated. When you add more pressure the underside of the clit is more likely to also be rubbing against the tissue underneath that is now denser and sandwiched between the vibe and pubic bone. You can also play with this effect with a partner. The partner(or you) can place their index finger and thumb parallel along your labia and gently squeeze them together so that the clit is pressured more on each side and raised upwards. Slowly sliding the hand up and down with the labia between the fingers and having the fingers run underneath the clit while a vibe is pressuring it from above can have great effects. You can also have the vibe on 1 side of your clit, and a hand on the other to vary the stimulation or keep your legs pressed together so your labia are pushed together over the clitoris.
Thanx for your responses.
When highly aroused I do at times masturbate with my indexfinger and middlefinger on each side of my clit, pressing the inner labia together, which does make my clit "surface" out of hiding. I guess that's comparable to what you suggest, FunintheSun? I'll give it a shot :) I had added a little lube (waterbased, Durex 2in1). I was surprised I didn't need much, since with my Duckie I could use buckets, but nothing would help ;) I could try adding more and see how it goes. And I'll try leading the vibes through my fingers as well.
It's just funny how I always thought that vibes would send you to orgasm quicker. But I seem to orgasm way more easy when rubbing against my lover, than I do by manual stimulation (took me about 3 months after to learn how to do that myself). And now manual stimulation is easier for me than vibes... It's strange since the vibrator was even invented to make it easier for doctors to treat their hysteric female patients by given them a "physical therapy" to cause "hysteric spasms" (back in the late 1800). With this vibrotherapy-device they could treat 6 instead of 1 woman per hour. So apparently; even the earliest devices were efficient. O well, I guess I'm just a funny girl ;)

You're welcome! That would certainly change the stimulation in a similar way. I'd recommend trying it with the outer labia first as there would be more cushion for the clitoris as well as involving the nerves along the outer labia. That motion with the hands can also be a great sensual massage warmup without the vibrator. I suggested coconut oil because water based lube, when used externally and exposed to air, quickly dries out.

Definitely worth trying! If it doesn't work with yours it is important to note that the ones which Doc is referring to are powered by a wall outlet that create movements of up to a centimeter back and forth with more momentum behind them while yours is likely to be moving a couple millimeters with less momentum so it is much more likely that your fingers might overdampen the motion.
O well, I guess I'm just a funny girl
Your response is totally normal! Sexual response is mostly in the brain and your mind is more turned on by the emotions accompanying a person than the simple physical aspects and on top of that you have much more experience and have trained your sexual response with the former. Remember that most people treated for hysteria were taught that any sexual act other than procreation and receiving pleasure from it was wrong so they had at best a blank slate regarding sexual response but much more likely a damaged one!
There are some ways to fine tune the amount of movement and speed until a combination is found for a particular person which causes nearly all of the genital regions nerves to be stimulated at once and regardless of whether or not they're in the mood for sex or even trying not to be will have a very fast, extremely intense orgasm for as long as the stimulation is occurring. Whether or not the person finds satisfaction in that, however, is entirely up to that person at that particular moment!
Someone close to me got very sick a couple years ago and was often in a lot of pain that made it difficult to sleep. Very intense orgasms had always made it easy for her to fall asleep and we also found they temporarily masked the pain, so I spent a significant amount of time with her helping find a way to have them regardless of her current mental state to help her feel better.
So I've tried the guiding through fingers, but that makes my fingers feel numb... Also tried the holding and squeezing the labia together while a vibe is pressuring the clit from above. Which was very nice; my clit didn't go into hiding and I was virtually at the brink of orgasm, but couldn't pull through. Most probably cause my labia wont stay in place. How to put it... They are rather sturdy, especially when engorged with blood :o I tried putting just the inner together, but that was a bit too much direct stimulation. I did however very much enjoy the overall sensation. When my bf helps me reach orgasm, it feels so much more relaxed than when I do by manual stimulation. This kinda resembles that feeling of relaxation. Long story short; I almost got there. Perhaps practice makes perfect.
I know intense orgasm helps to sleep, since I'm a notorious bad sleeper. And orgasms do work :) And I know that the treatment for hysteria was based on non-sexual ideas. I've just been fascinated by this. From a very young age I have experienced physical discomfort and even illness due to stress, internal psychological conflicts and emotional turmoil. It could cause me to vomit for days to the point of dehydration, without medical cause. Nowadays they call it somatic symptoms, but by my knowledge it was called hysteric symptoms once. It's become such a strong connection, that my body tells me immediately whenever I start worrying. Interesting is my bad sexual experiences and lack of sexual development that only reemerged in my twenties. Signs of sexual abuse were typical in women with hysteria. In fact; it was how Freud came up with his theory of the unconscious, subconscious and conscious mind; hypnotizing his hysteric patients, (repressed) memories of rape and abuse surfaced. Since he couldn't believe all this women were really abused, he figured it must have been symbolic. Sadly, guesses later on are that the women were actually repressing memories of real events...
I've learned to cope with it more efficiently nowadays. There are several ways; solving the conflict, letting go of the conflict, pay attention to my body in a loving way (sauna, meditation, massage). The moment I started sexual activities 3 years ago, I physically got less ill, I felt good and healthy actually :) You're right about that sex to me is heavily melted with emotions. That has actually become a problem since my bf denies me his touch and I couldn't masturbate anymore without crying and feeling pain afterwards. Another lesson to be learned; I'm learning to separate the physical from the emotional and how to self-love :)
shame that they don't sell those in the states
found them on ebay.....dual massagers are $150 US
I have the single (pre)heatable sensual massager for him and her. It apparently is deleted from the UK site of Philips (which I linked to in the original post), so this site is only in Dutch: [url=http://www.philips.nl/c/intimiteit/om-samen-te-genieten-hf8410_00/prd/nl... - Warme sensuele stimulator om samen te genieten - HF8410/00
The Dual Massager is available in Holland for 150 euro's (=205 US$). So Ebay seems to sell them for a nice price I'd say! :)

wow.....$205 US is alot for that.....i saw it for $150 for the dual massager.....the one in the link, was listed on ebay for $177 US and the 8430 model was listed at $131 US
anyway, i've been looking for something new for me and the wife to play with....especially something that is rechargeable.....batteries are a hassle
I must admit I sometimes order products from the US cause even with high shipping costs added, it's cheaper than buying it here ;)
Well, you have my review on this massager. If my bf gets in the mood for using it, I may add more from his perspective. But he's not much of a toy person and I wouldn't count on anything sexual happening between him and me soon ;) So: good luck with finding something for you and the wife! :)
In the past 2 weeks I've found a trick that gets me there (repeatedly, so I take it as a "proven" method). Now I know this is a personal mix, but since the advice and experience of others in this have been helpful to me (thanx again!) I can imagine that if anyone else is looking for ideas, this may be interesting:
The key to me seems to be in the movement (and the lack of it). Basically it's moving the vib around slowly in the first stages, bringing it closer to the clit; circling around it and flicking over it a bit faster as arousal builds. You probably all can imagine the sound of wildbeasts running in the distance and they're coming closer while the earth starts shaking a bit? That's about what it feels like to me just before I'm about to come. And as I first started experimenting with this vib, I'd hover in that feeling all the time, unable to release. I've now found that once I feel this, it's the moment to press the vib firmly against the right or left side of the clit and hold it there (no moving it around). In a few seconds I'm being run over by waves of pleasure!:):D
The funny thing is that the orgasm is different from when I pleasure myself using fingers. It lasts longer; as if I'm feeling an entire Gaussian curve passing by instead of just a quick peak (I'm probably talking milliseconds that seem like a lifetime, but it's the sensation that counts).
