ok well i have been having periods for 5 years now (i started when i was 10) and i have never properly been regular, i miss periods all the time and well not pregnant. now i am in a relationship where i am having sex and having irregualar periods is really quite stressful because although i use protection theres always a chance i may get pregnant, is there anyway in which i could regualate my periods so that it's not so stressy?
by the way i think alot of people assume i'm on birth control, i'm not because after my first month i had a really bad time with the hormones so came off it. i know i need to go back to find a pill that will agree with me better but i dont really think i'm ready for the hassel.

Hi Lust:
Yes, I thought you were on the pill as well. Have you spoke to the practitioner about switching brands? Many times one may not work great, if fact it can be horrible, other's with no side effects. Also, the "psycho" feeling takes a bit to go away with any pill. I would give any about 2 months. I know when I would go back on them or when I would get the Depo Shot, I would be super hormonal much as if I was in a chronic state of PMS. The Depo side effects wore out in a course of two days & it was guaranteed to occur with each shot. The pills again 2 months and the first week was not pleasant---anxious. For you to regulate a cycle the pill would be the best option and I know Brandye stated the Nuvaring can be prescribed if done in the UK "creatively". The patches? same as the pills and many have issue with the adhesive.
i see this looks like something i will need to consult with my doctor over, thanks.
Yes, that is the best approach since they have the experience w/why you may have had troubles in the past (combo pills of hormones). There are many options and as Brandye stated there are creative ways to obtain the Ring, see here in the US it's now commonly used! But apparently it's not part of your NHS.
Good luck! :)
Additionally; one point I do not understand; here in the US there are several meds which can be obtained through reputable mail order systems. It's shipped to the patient and there are ways around the requirement for a prescription--you just need to be under a physicians care and he/she should be aware of your ordering due to safety reasons. I do not see why a Physician outside of the US could not decide what you need & then have the patient mail order it; thus, making the method/product available. Similarly others have asked about Plan "B" yet live in a remote area or have difficulty getting to the store; again Plan "B" can be obtained through this system using any on-line (reliable) drug store & they ship anywhere in the world. And the cost is much lower (but you have Fed-ex charges). I do not advocate self-medicating by any means; rather, I suggest accessibility to meds via this method with a physicians guidance on what your require.
