I was wondering is it okay to pee in the shower. I always thought it was wrong until my wife told me she do it all the time. She said it's all going to the sameplace.

Peeing in the shower

I'd be afraid the soap would not kill bacteria which grows in places that are unreached & that it may begin to smell. I think it's easier & more sanitary to just go & use the toilet. Just think of what your toes might be standing in!
I thought that pee is sterile. I have peed in the shower on occasion and the world did not stop spinning so, I don’t think there is anything that is all that bad. Just make sure you wash it down the drain so it dose not smell.
Peeing in the shower with care may be ok, although it sounds a little childish. I am guessing you are talking about the sewer system. That water does go down the drain of the shower to your nearest sewage processing plant.
We had a sign in the backyard growing up. Please don't pee in the pool as we don't swim in your toilet.
Take Sera's advice and use the toilet. If there is anything on the shower floor that may come in contact with the urine would need to be cleaned well.
ive been peeing in my shower since i was born
The most convenient spot to empty a menstrual cup is in the shower. I do it all the time, rinse the cup and toss it into the sink. Sometimes that gives me the urge - and I do. As long as there is good drainage, no problem. We wash worse stuff from our skin than we pee out.
As long as you wash it all down, there isn't really anything unsanitary about it. Pee is completely sterile..more bacteria and such already exists in the toilet water and the floor of the average shower than would be in pee. As long as you are good about cleaning your shower from time to time there shouldn't be a smell. If it doesn't bother you, your wife or anyone else that uses the shower on a regular basis, go for it.
As an aside- Brandye, how do you like using a menstrual cup as opposed to tampons, etc. I'm thinking about switching, but wanted to know how hard they are to get in right and everything.
I've asked this question to several different people. I found that many pee in the shower, but a couple have said "The toilet is right there, why not just get out and use it?". For instance, my boyfriend never pees in the shower, and I've noticed that on occasion, without even thinking, I have urinated as soon as I step in (I've read it's because of the change in body temperature) Hehe. I asked him one day if he would ever mind if I peed in the shower and he said "No babe, I'd pee with you."
So my answer for this question would be, everyone has their preference and if you're showering with someone, be polite and see if they mind before hand. =D
raez,
In Sexual Health Women, there is a sticky on cups. I havwe tried the disposables and found them unsatisfactory. Plus, you still have something to dispose of. I used a Keeper for seven years and then a Diva for several more. The Diva discolored after a long while but the silicone does not break down as does latex. I believe that the Moon Cup is also silicone.
Gorgeous Mistake,
Very considerate and I agree with you. But, would they even know?
Brandye, I don't completely understand your question. What is the antecedent of "they" and know what? Oh and thank you!
The one you are showering with. With the water streaming over you, the stream is not noticeable.
Oh ok!!! Well I have yet to pee in the shower with him but I wouldn't just let it happen. Knowing myself I'd laugh and tell him something like "Move babe, I gotta tinkle!" I don't know if others would do the same, but as for me I would let him know!
So my advice to others would be, let them know when you are (of course, after you've made sure it was ok)
Thanks for the info Brandye, I read the sticky and found it really helpful. I think I'm going to go with the Moon Cup in a few months when I'll have a little extra cash. I can't wait :D
many ancient chinese remidies involve ingesting urine. im sure thats a bad idea but still not totally harmfull. that being said, peeing in the shower cant be all that bad. as long as you rinse. what doesnt kill you makes you stronger, if your system cant handle a little urine in the shower how would your body deal with things like a taxi ride (think of all the drunks who have puked on the seat and door panals, and the cabbies care during cleanup ) or a ride on a bus or subway, who knows where all those hands have been. ever pet a cat? dog? they lick their bums and peters and then lick themselfs and you.
fresh pee
hot shower
rinse and soap after ( you usually have the urge to pee upon entry )
unless you have very poor water presure and a already dirty tub i dont think you can really say that there is anything wrong with it at all
I pee in the shower all the time. Much easier than the toilet since you don't have to aim, and easy to wash off straight away. My gf has no problem with it either.
Now number 2's.... They are a pain to force down the drain.:o
Lol this is a question I have asked myself since I was like 7 :P

Pee IS sterile as it comes out but starts breaking down within a few minutes.
You can even drink it safely if you do it within a few minutes. People been using urine for centuries. It's 96% water, 2.5% uric acid and the rest is stuff you get from food ever day.
i have always wondered what angle the female pees at when they are standing up
i believe it happens because of the water running so it makes you want to the toilet, i dont see the problem with doing it, its just the other one you have to be careful about
I also have been peeing in the shower since I was born!
What about the fact that by peeing in the shower you are saving somewhere between 1-2.5 gallons of clean water not having to flush a toilet.
As a guy, I'm warning the ladies on this forum that if I noticed one of you peeing in the shower with me, I'd be pretty grossed out.
Not my cup of tea.
I had a 'sword fight' with my gf today. Needless to say, I won since I have a bit better aim. It was fun, overall not a big fan of urine, we usually just let it go down the drain and move onto more interesting things.
Peeing on your feet helps control athletes feet , Google Urine Therapy, it's used for Eye, Nose and ear drops.!
my wife doesn't have any problem going peeing in the shower...
and although i poke fun at her a bit for it i dont really see what's wrong with it. i probably would too but i practically never need to pee anyway and the 'rushing water effect' has no effect on me. [unless i'm 'tipsy' :)]
saying that though i wouldn't find it very attractive if we were having an intimate shower....
Frankly the worst part of peeing in the shower (and yes, I do it) is the hot water and steam will intensify the odor. When it's me not that big a deal, if I'm with someone else I find it a mild turn-off (their smell, not mine). I guess that's true for most bodily smells.
bad idea.
showers have an S-curve in the plumbing for the purpose of preventing odours from the plumbing being smelled in the bathroom (the toilet has a body of water in pressure equilibrium doing this). so if you piss in the shower you'll trap some piss water in that valve there.
if you can't smell it then i guess it doesn't matter, but also know that if the water ever gets backed up (you get that sorta puddle that's only slowly draining at your feet) you're standing in piss water.
That S, is just a water barrier, not a valve.
I've been peeing in the shower for years. Why not? As has been said, it goes the same place. No one takes a bath at my place, and the tub gets scrubbed regularly. I think the warm water relaxes you so you can go. I like to take a shower just before bed so, I can fully empty my bladder before bedtime.
As a nudist, one of my lady friends had to go pee in a hurry, and not squatting as I expected, she was hugging a tree. I said, I thought you had to go pee, and she said she was. lol ..as another couple walked by. ;)
lets just put it this way... sweat is a form a pee... thats why sweat stains are yellow... and when most ppl sweat alot they feel the need to shower.

this is mostly accurate... if you pee and are still in the shower for another 3 minutes, most of the pee will be pushed past... and what isn't will be diluted enough that your likely to never smell it... just dont take a piss and then not turn on the shower...
