painful lumps

just wondering if anyone could give me some advice..
during the week i notice i was painfull after sex, just thought it was related to having to much, but as the week went on i noticed the swelling did not go down. on thursday i noticed some lumps on the outside of the vaginal on thier side of the lips, this has made it painful to sit and dicomfort when walking. the pain has got worse.
so went to the ermency doc who says i have an infection and thinks the lumps are due to that.

has anyone had anything like this before? and can u give me any advice on way to aid the lumps going as its very painful to move

thank u

On both sides of the vaginal opening are "paravaginal glands" called the Glans of Bartholin. If the duct from these glands becomes blocked, you can develop a cyst in either or both of them. It is not serious and a simple snip by the doctor with a dab bacitracin will do the trick. Usually gyn's handle this but in many areas your GP can do it.

What the Emergency Doc said could be true but I suspect cysts in the glands. A sex marathon can irritate the area and cause swelling which can pinch off the opening of the ducts. Please see your family doctor or a gyn. Emergency Doctors are great but they see alittle bit of everything, are often over-worked and may miss something. They are for emergencies not continuing care.

thank u for your advice, i think i will go docotors on monday before work get them to have a look.
