Its bad if its forced on anyone.
Otherwise, I feel why should anyone bother her or stop her from earning her livelihood ( if necessary ) . I feel, if it is made legal, they can have better standard of living. Even they can give better services. Surely, they can be taxed for their earnings. Its a win-win situation. Morally, its not good. Because you become a commodity and not a person. |

I find it ironic that prostitution isn't legalized and monitored. The women (and clients) would be much better off with government supervision as well as the health care which would come with it. There wouldn't be rampant abuse from pimps, kidnapped women would be harder to move and sell into the North American system (women kidnapped from small towns and forced to street walk in Vegas, etc) as I assume prostitutes would be registered somehow, and STD rates could possibly go down. Controls could be put in, ie: you have HIV, you're no longer allowed to work. John lists could be built and held internally as well, so that when hookers start turning up dead, there's an idea of what went on.
Aside from that, I find it funny that the world's oldest (or second oldest, after soldiers..) profession is so scorned. People want sex, some bad enough to pay for it. Why not make sure that it's at least safe for them to do so.

Although, morally its not good, everyone knows that it is existing since time immemorial.
So, if it cannot be stopped, it should be accepted and brough under control other way. Take example of Smoking. Smoking is not good for health. But it cannot be stopped. So it is restricted. Like no smoking in open place ( public) etc and it is taxed relatively more compared to other products in India. Similarly, this business should also be brought under control but not banned. ( In Mumbai, last year bar dancers were banned by legal policing. This poor girls many were students, and from medium family , who used to earn extra income by dancing in bars. They had to go to other states and had no choice but do prostitution. So what good was done. You converted bar dancers into prostitution. And when they are caught, they have to give more sex to this people for free. Its pathetic.) Their working hours, rates, health issues, hazards, and working environment. Not to forget , their safety. Govt would get revenue on taxing them. Also this poors girls would not be harassed and blackmaiked in name of controlling prostitution. In fact, if this business , has helped a girl to become a Doctor , this is a good business. She did it till she wanted to do. And every body knows it now. So this business is not bad. Girls doing it are not bad. People want to see themselves as good by pointing them as bad. Everybody has compulsions. Instead of addressing their issues, people create problem to them. Isnt it ? |

You should consult Nevada where it is legal in some counties and Europe where although it is legal - beng legal has not stopped some of the evils attached to the profession.
Please bear in mind that the sex slave trade has not been stopped, not even in America. Forcd prostitution exists. |

I believe it should be legalized in order to clean it up, and yes we could tax it. Why should the call people not have to pay taxes like the rest of us. What about the husband or wife that loves their spouse, but for whatever reason ,health or lack of interest can't or will not have sex. Couples that want a threesome as a one time fantasy. What if you want to try a bi-sexual experience. If you didn't like it no harm no foul. I have spent alot of time in Europe, yes prostitution is still illegal in most countries. It isnt considered the huge problem that it is here, as one person in France told me it is like jay walking in America.
