brazillian wax?
hey, i shave, but im finding it increasingly uncomfortable and not long lasting enough. does anyone get brazillians who can tell me about it? i know it takes it all off, but what does "it all" include? how long does it take for it to grow back, and is it as uncomfortable growing back as shaving?

i havent' had one yet, but by taking everything off, they mean exactly that. front, in between your legs, and "behind" meaning you get on all fours so they can wax around your anus too. probably hurts like hell, but how long it takes to grow back depends on the person and how fast their hair grows. some people shave their legs and they stay smooth for a week, and others have pokey legs within 12 hours. i'd imagine waxing to be the same (meaning some for maybe a month and others for like a week)

well the difference between waxing and shaving is how low it gets the hairs. since waxing actually take them out by the root it takes much longer for them to come back, and it is completely smooth afterwards

haha. this topic reminds me of a scene from "The 40 Year Old Virgin"
Steve Carrell has a really hairy chest, and his friends told him to wax his chest for the ladies... keep in mind this is his real hair. So they did it, he was actually bleeding.. And then after a few strips of wax he had to quit. I do not do the scene any justice at all, but if you want a laugh, go rent it. |

Ha! This thread is really funny! I started out shaving, but got tired of shaving every 2 days and the itching was driving me crazy. So, I waxed. I wanted to get it done in a salon (I'm ok with that), but there are no local ones that would do a full brazilian wax. So, I did it myself.
Several things to consider: -the first time is a bitch; you are taking out a considerable amount and it will HURT! -the hair must be long enough for the wax to "grab" so follow the recommendations on the package -I used the extra-strength wax bought from the drug store as my hair is somewhat coarse; but lately for touch-ups I've been using the cold-wax -when you grab the strip, take a deep breath, stretch the skin tight and pull quickly! -if your clitoris extends beyond the labia, be sure NOT to get wax on it or when you yank the strip you may rip that also!!!! -If you don't have a friend to help, use a mirror and good light I have found, after two months of being waxed, that I've only had to touch up twice. It didn't hurt as much as the first time because there isn't as much hair. Touch-ups are necessary to get the hair that is growing that was missed the previous time. Hair grows in cycles and not all at once. Once you start, it is well worth it (I have not regretted it and it's a nice surprise for someone to see...all smooth)! |

As a male, I really don't have much choice but to do it at home. I did it about a month ago and it hurt. Then just did it again a few days ago for a second treatment. It still hurt, but there was not as much hair. There can be a little blood and it took about a day to feel better and the redness to go away. I only did the hair above the penis and did leave a small patch in the middle. Couldn't bring myself to do the big boys below. I did use some tweezers for some of the hair that was missed and to clean up around the penis and scrotum. I do like how smooth it is after things heal up. I still get a few ingrown hairs from the last waxing. Hopefully I will get fewer of them this time. The hair did seem softer when it grew back and there was not as much.
