Shaving 101

ouch... Ouch... OUCH... & OUCH!!!!

Did I mention ouch...?

I did a stupid thing today. Please keep the snickering and chuckling to a minimum. I did a search online about the use of Nair™ as a hair remover in the lower region and to my surprise, a LOT of men claimed to have no ill-effects of using it down-below on the scrotum, the shaft itself, the perenium and ass-in-general.

I did as suggested... tried a "test" patch just below the waiste-line... worked GREAT...!!!! No irritation. To be safe, I tried one more "test" on the other side... WoooHOOO! Same as before... no irritation whatsoever.

So what do I (the genius) do...? I stand in the shower and slather it all-over the pubic region and the crack-o-my-ass to make the whole area nice & smoothe...

Great... this is not a probl-... wait... what's that...? It's kinda tingly... it's actually getting very warm and OOWWWWW... okay, it feels like someone poured HOT SOUP down the crack of my ass and anus... WHOA! It REALLY stings on the actual "exit-hole"... so I turn-on the shower to wipe it from that area... OW! OW! OW! OW! -

Okay... I think the crisis is averted... oh-boy... nope... not really... the fleshy insides of my legs & ass-cheeks start to heat-up too... DAMNIT...! Only, it's not as bad. I make the other genius decision to "Leave-it-on" and endure the discomfort in the hopes of a pay-off in the end (no pun intended).

Long-story-short... ultimately... the hair fell right-off and yes, it's all smoothe and clean down there... but my skin around my ass and inner thighs are RAW AS HELL...! YEAOOWWW!

Oddly enough, the testicles and penis had no problem whatsoever.

OH! One more thing... (talk about REAL pain) - this made me need to jump-back into the shower: I figured "Well, I made it through... now maybe I should just moisturize the area to help soothe the skin or something..." So I took my after-shave cream and slathered THAT on the rear-area... WHOA!!! It hurt worse than the NAIR... I had to run into the shower again and rinse with COLD COLD water to feel better...!!!

Man... not a good day for my posterior and its skin.

Learn from me... TEST FIRST...!!!!!

Hopefully, the soreness will be gone in a day or two... it's gonna make it tough to play racquet-ball if not. YIKES!

ouch, even reading this is painful. You gotta be careful with hair removal creams. They do put a warning not to use it on such sensitive ares that you used it on from what I remember. It is far safer with a good razor and shaving gel. And yeah, usually in cases like that, or any big irritation, lotion will sting. You could try using Vagesil, it will sting a bit as well, but it will sooth afterwards. And sometimes washing it with cool watter will relive the pain a bit. Good luck.

Hi all. I have been reading posts here for a long time, but never registered until now.

I shaved myself for the first time a few weeks ago. Don't know why, I just got the urge to try it out. After the first couple times, the little red bumps and razor burn wasnt a problem.

I got a question for the guys. The first time I did it, I shaved everything. Lately I have only been shaving my shaft and my balls. Personally, I think a smooth scrotum feels great!It is so much more sensative now!

Do you guys shave everything or just certain parts? What about the hard to get area between your scrotum and anus?

Hey guys. I'd been shaving for a long time, and using Jergen's shave minimizing lotion and really quite enjoying its effects. But I've suddenly developed a really nasty allergy to the Jergen's stuff. I break out in a rash not just in the area that I use it but in all my joints.

But, it was SO nice not having to shave every other day, and I found that it really helped me reduce ingrown hairs and whatnot. I've been managing with more frequent shaves and some vitamin E oil, but I'd like to know if there are other options. I've roamed the skin care aisle thoroughly and not found anything promising, but then, I live in a somewhat small town and I'm quite willing to go a little further out to find something, if need be. I just don't want to make the trip and find that there isn't anything out there!

Hmmm, you could probably order some online. BUt I know that there are other lotions that have the same result. Just go online and check different lotion brands and most likely the msot popular ones do have lotion with the same results, hmmm the one comes to mind Aveeno. If they got one that helps with shaving, I think it could be good. Good luck

I usually keep the shaft, and scrotum shaved. Sometimes my wife will shave the "bottom. makes for much better oral. Remember, when you shave, allways use a new razor, and only go 2 strokes on each area, that will help prevent rashes.

Yea...i get the same problem...it gets a rash right away so i just keep myself trimmed....my boyfriend loves me just the way i am

Does anyone have tips for convincing your significant other to shave the "area?" I would really like her to try it and she is fully resisting the idea. She is convinced that only porn stars do this and that secretly I want her to look like a little girl. I even tried doing it myself and she said she did not care whether I did it or not and then was angry accusing me of doing it just to try to get her to do it. Any ideas on getting her to do this? Sounds like a pretty positive experience for everyone here.. Thanks.

I shave it all off. *I like men who keep it at least trimmed. *Personal grooming is a big turn on for most people. *I am not one to shave just a patch. *It's a all or nothing thing for me.
