Just wondering what other females use names for their "time of month" other then the word period/s.
A female i used to work with called them rags and a close female friend calls them red flags.

Other names for periods

aunty flow,red river,monthly,the curse,woman's thing
Oh and menses,menstruation,menstrating
those names are the common ones, its the non common or personal ones that females use. a friend i have known for ages does call hers invaders.
I'm not that creative... I usually call them "bleeds" or "menstruation".
But I heard of a few expressions:
"being indisposed" , most in Holland call it this way. Weird expression, yet: a lot of women do not feel 100% healthy/happy while on their period, so it makes some sense...
"when grandpa visits". I don't understand where on earth that expression comes from. It's totally unclear unless you know what she means, but I guess that's the point ;)
"corkscrew-time" a very personal one of a girl I knew in highschool. She felt like her body was turning inside out of pain while on her period, like a corkscrew twisting her insides... :(
Some Native American cultures call it a woman's "Moon Time". Years ago, I dated a guy that was very into that culture, and we morphed it into "I'm mooning".
my gf and I call it the monthly fairy
