oral pleasure

ok so i am very into oral pleasure. but i came into a problem. i have a cold sore for the first time. its driving my boyfriend crazy cause i can't give him head. what can i do to get him off?

Yeah, cold sores can transmit to genital areas, so do be careful. As for your boyfriend, tell him to get off it and take the time to get to know you as a person. Sexuality shouldn't be just you giving him head. Ask him to explore you for a change or just spend the night talking. it sounds cliche, but that can be some of the most intimate time spent together. If sexuality is strictly blow jobs for him, try something like lubing up your hands with a non-scented lotion or a vibrator on him until the sore heals. Best of luck! Robin

Pick up some cold sore medicine at any local drug store. Apply the medicine to the infected area. Wait until the cold sore is gone (me I wait about a week) Then go down. I do not so much as to kiss my gf when I have a cold sore on my lips. (1 It hurts to damn much. 2 I am not taking any chances on spreading it to her any where on her body.) She understands the circumstances and does not get discouraged when I do not go down on her or kiss her when I have a cold sore. So if your bf cares then he should also understand. Thy tend not to last much longer then a week.

Yeah its possible
here is some stuff I found
[QUOTE=Quote ]Dear Alice,
I sometimes get herpes blisters (HSV-1) next to or on my lips and this is the case with my girlfriend as well. I was wondering if there is any danger of causing herpes on her genitals (either HSV-1 or HSV-2) by performing oral sex on her when I have a sore around my mouth.

Worried

Dear Worried,

YES!!!

When you (and your girlfriend) have herpes blisters, or cold sores, in and around your mouth and facial areas, it is highly likely that genital herpes will develop when these herpes lesions and/or its contents come into di rect contact with the genital area, such as during oral-genital sex. (Kissing can pass cold sores from one person to another!)

Alice suggests you read her archived answers, Cold sores vs. canker sores - oral sex risks?, Fever blisters on lips, Canker sores or herpes?, and Herpes on the m outh - contagious?, to get the full scoop.

Herpes labialis is an infection caused by the herpes simplex virus, characterized by an eruption of small and usually painful blisters on the skin of the lips, mouth, gums or the skin around the mouth. These blisters are commonly called cold sores or fever blisters.

Alternative Names
Cold sore; Fever blister; Herpes simplex - oral

Causes, incidence, and risk factors

Herpes labialis is an extremely common disease caused by infection of the mouth area with herpes simplex virus, most often type 1. Most Americans are infected with the type 1 virus by the age of 20.

The initial infection may cause no symptoms or mouth ulcers. The virus remains in the nerve tissue of the face. In some people, the virus reactivates and produces recurrent cold sores that are usually in the same area, but are not serious. Herpes virus type 2 usually causes genital herpes and infection of babies at birth but can also cause herpes labialis.

Herpes viruses are contagious. Contact can occur directly, or through contact with infected razors, towels, dishes, etc. Occasionally, oral/genital contact can spread oral herpes to the genitals (and vice versa), so people with active herpes lesions on or around their mouths or on their genitals should avoid oral sex.

are cold sores and genital herpes the same strain of herpes?

Im fairly sure thier not, Cold sores on ur Lips are the Herpes strain, Cold sores in your mouth are non Trasmitable?

Im fairly sure, Anyone eleborate on this?

yeah, i'd suggest he waits. Cold sores don't seem to last all that long, so if he can hold out, then I'd say he does. If not, I agree with trying a handjob.

tell him to chill out. I would suggest a handjob since I'm assuming you don't have sex. The cold sore will go away, it takes awhile. Better no oral than herpes on the penis, lol.
