like if i rub my finger around my nipple on the areola, i dont feel it... but i feel it when i touch the nipple itself. i just recently found this out and it freaked me out. never had any piercings or surgeries so it cant be that. thanks for looking and hopefully someone will have an answer.

Quite normal. Relax. Some women are sexually aroused by nipple play and the areola is imply a warmup area; the nipple is quite sensitive.
