Playboy Empire
In today's news, Hugh Hefner's daughter, Christie, stepped down as chief executive after years of near-constant losses and steadily dwindling revenue. The magazine was launched in 1953 and nowadays its biggest competitor is the Internet.
Hef is in jeopardy of losing controlling interest; in a bid to take back control and taking the enterprise private, a competing bid by Penthouse magazine would give that magazine controlling interest! All the best, Hugh, and the best of luck. |

I still have a subscription to Playboy, and while there are portions of the magazine that have seriously gone downhill, there are pieces and pictorials that are still well worth it. The interviews tend to be interesting and insightful, and they have some great contributors. I'm not a fan of the format of the facts page, but I almost always enjoy the advisor.
