PSA Texting while Driving

I know this has NOTHING to do about sex. But this is something that we all need to watch especially the teen drivers. In the United Kingdom, a graphic public service film depicting the ravages of using cell phones in cars. Apparently UK will not show it do to the graphics and no hopes for U.S. to do the same. Although, we see people get shot, hit by a car, fights ect on public TV and that ok to air.

I can not image it is. Let me guess, mostly teenagers?

BTY, have you seen this on TV over there. It is my understanding that they (who ever contrals what is on TV like FCC) will not air it do to it being to graphic.

No, I have not seen it. The real results are bad enough without seeing selected, gruesome reports. It should be shown, though. We do have a slight advantage with fewer teen drivers per capita and the big red L on learner's cars.

I dont think that FCC will allow it to be shown in the states. Funny, you see people getting shot, hit by a car, even hear people say ass on public TV. But they are worries that something like this advertising will be a bad thing to air. Fucking government

I dont like this video. Its hard hitting, but its increadibly badly done. Look how the Ford KA (the teenagers) is drifting over the road and then all of a sudden its basically off the road when it hits the Mondeo. Following the crash, why is the red car (following the teenagers) on the WRONG side of the road? It just plows straight into the KA.

Hard hitting, but poorly done

I unfortuneatly lost a friend of mine a couple weeks ago. He was driving home one morning texting his buddy, hit the shoulder, and flipped his vehicle. Sadly he was DOA. I myself am guilty of texting while driving. I am one of those people who tend to have the mind frame of "It will never happen to me." But when it comes right down to it, is it really THAT important to respond/send a text when it may end up with you being seriously injured or worse? Ever since his accident I find I keep texting while driving to a minimum if at all. As for phone calls, I have voicemail for a reason.

I think this video should be aired, or a less graphic version, to get the point across. On a Tyra Banks episode they had a lady on the show bragging about how she can text, eat, talk on the phone and do her makeup while driving and was all giggly while talking about it. Until a mother and father spoke up and told the story how their 8 year old daughter was killed by a lady texting and driving.

Bottom line, a life is not worth a text.

Pretty serious video.

I use to text while driving but I don't anymore. I don't even asnwer my phone while I am driving unless it is important, and even still, only when i have my headset, bluetooth, or I will put it on speaker.

But for the most part, I don't use my phone while driving.

Talking on a handfree still has the same affect of texting.

It's not the manual dexterity of actually using the device that causes problems, but rather a byproduct of cognitive architecture that causes problems. Anywhoo..

Lol from the 1st of November it has become illegal to use a cell in a vehicle unless it is hands free....

riding down the street today on my bicycle I was wondering if it was wise of me to be talking on my cell... one wonders when a bicycle handsfree kit will come availible lol
