wasn't quite sure where to put this, but has anyone heard of it? apparently its a lube/spermicide that also potentially protects agaisnt STI's. thought it sounded interesting.

The website you include tells what it is not but does not indicate what it is. It appears that someone is using partial testing to begin to build a marketing campaign. Seems that the two products mentioned there are still developmental. The "duet" is a variation on a cervical cap.

If the tests work out, this should take the spermicide market away from the three old reliables. There have been many things tested to chemically prevent transmission of STD's and none have worked out so far.

yeah, it looks like its still in the works. apparently it is from the makers of the Instead mestrual cup, and there is a little more information on their main site.

Well, not too long ago oral birth control was considered impossible. And the currently used spermicides were revolutionar fifty years ago.

The manufacturer needs to establish safety and effectiveness. It is this second that has failed so often in trying to develop a topical preventive for STDs. This could fail with that and still mark a step forward in spermicidal development. Lemon juice was the best at one point and so was crocodile dung. Progress has been made and will continue; we just do not know which without the clinical trials.

the clinical trials all look very promising though. still i think it will be a very, very long time before it is released
