It doesn't say whether it's more prevelant in men or women...but I guess now it'll be a good idea for not just girls to get the vaccine, but boys as well.

Sadly, I remember reading on the Planned Parenthood site that the HPV vaccine is not available for guys. There is one in the works, but won't be available for a few years, as I understand it.

Don't get all afraid. The chances were always there. I will laugh when I start hearing people use "i might get cancer" as an excuse for skipping oral sex. What has the world gone to?

Also, to clear things up.. a dirty penis is just nasty, no more chance of an STD. Wash before sex. That goes for those with a penis and with out. I don't like seafood much.

Men and women are at risk. Also most forms of HPV are NOT sexually transmitted.

Yeah, you're right, most forms of HPV are not sexually transmitted since it is a skin virus, but well, it is pretty scary when you find out that 1/3 women have HPV. I'm certainly not advocating a ban on oral sex (that's just silly) but it sucks that there is no way to really protect yourself except from the vaccine, yet men are still carriers. Plus, they say that (at least in the state I am in) that women over 25 have no reason to get the vaccine - I find that very odd.

I would very much like to know the religious choices of the people involved in this reports. Quite frankly. I've heard too many stupid things being said lately. While this report seems correct on the issues at hand, too many reports attempting to scare the living daylights out of people who pratice different sex acts, not just missionary vaginal, gets on my nerves.

just wash, don't screw around unprotected, get longer / lasting relationships. And stop funding people who take 5 years or more to say that sex is good for our health. DUH?

yea we all know that it is common sense that sex is good for you cmon we have been screwing for countless years we reproduce this way how can that do us any harm, it is only over moralistic people that feel shame in it, that's fine it is called natural selection, a person that feels shame in sex is not going to carry out his/her biological function or reproduction as well as many others (ok the others can trick nature with BC methods) hence the ones that do it willingly will generate the future of mankind and those that don't like to reproduce will die out.
