I was a virgin until age 21. I was sheltered in high school and basically, once in college, waiting for someone I could respect, not a party pickup. The best choice was a friend of mine, and he really didn't make a big deal about my being a virgin. I used to feel as a virgin like I was this separate creature from the rest of the world. People can make you feel like that; please don't let them. I learned that only when I found the friend I lost my virginity to and wish I had learned it earlier.

People thought I was a virgin all through high school. since they never saw me 'with' anyone.
They were very mistaken but I saw no reason to tell them.
As feeling like a separate creature - most kids in high school feel like that anyway for a variety of reasons.

rather than ask, why dont you just get out and do it, its human nature, you dont need someone to tell you how to breathe, it's a personal experience to you, so why not keep it that way, rather than broadcast it to a load of strangers on an open forum for all and sundry to comment on and view, i dont even tell my best friends about my sex life, it's none of their business, so keep this yours. and if anyone tries to lecture me about i should be more open then i will reply with two very simple worlds, one a modal verb the second a noun

If you feel that you desparetely need to get laid,don't.
Wait until you find someone you can trust being with when you do it for the first time.
It is a wonderful experince when the two people can trust and take their time at it.
If you really would like to just to do it so you are not a virgin,don't.
It is not worth it.
