My girlfriend is on the pill, and niether of us has an STD, but I guess I will still use a condom because I don't want to take any chances. Thanks for the help!

You are welcome...better to be safe than sorry; remember BCP's fail, missed on time, or they can be forgotten accidentally [without any agenda].

I have often wondered actualy, i'm on the pill but me and boyfriend sill use condoms becuase we would rather be safe than sorry as we are both only 16. In my cycle for some reason I'm off the pill for a good 5 days before my period actaully comes and i have often wondered that in that gap, if parhaps we were to have an accident how likley would it be that we could have concieved? Obvioulsy as we are very careful i don't particularly worry but it has left me wondering..

I admire your caution. The pill works by increasing the hormone level in your bloodstream making the body think it is pregnant and preventing ovulation. When you stop the pill at the end of the pack, it takes some time until the level of hormone drops enough to allow menstruation. Most women take two-three days. Five is not unusual.

If you are well established with minimum side-effects on your present pill, live with it; if you need to change pills for other reasons, ask your presecriber to consider a lower dose pill.

Read the sticky Caution: Take Only As Directed. It explains how things work. The pill treats by the menstrual cycle, not day by day.

I find I am much more aroused during the day when I am on my period, so, no there is nothing wrong or weird about period sex. I also find that it alleviates my cramps and the orgasms are much more powerful. As long as he is comfortable and happy to go down on you during it, there is nothing to be embarrassed about - just a part of being a woman. As far as the amount of bleeding and/or blood, well, it happens. Again, nothing to worry about - just take a shower after you've finished playing.
