worried about pregnancy

so..

me and my girlfriend had sex a few times within the past couple of weeks.

I used a condom each time.

I looked at the condom during sex to make sure nothing was happening

I looked at it after I came.

the condom even had spermicidal stuff.

shes worried about being pregnant because she started her period, but she said it was unusually light and only lasted a day.

How could she possibly be pregnant. ? Is it normal for girls when they first start having sex to have a smaller period, or could this be stress/worry on her part that causes it?

Is she on birth control pills? BCPs are notorious for decreasing periods, in some cases making them disappear altogether, and making them as regular as clock-work. But then she couldn't be pregnant.

Otherwise she is just transferring her fears re: sex and intercourse to her physical being. Is she feeling guilty at all? Does sh think sex is dirty, nasty, and gross?

You two had bette talk and if she's going to be doing this - she had better get on some form of birth control - period.

Ducy is just really nice
My girlfriend actually had a heavier period...well the first day was...got lighter as time went on of course.

you can sorta bleed when your pregnant, but usually it indicates something wrong with the fetus...it is very unlikely that this is the case though, because as EEK said stress plays a part. And so can physical activity. All the extra hormones going through your body can really **** with your system. If she is really so worried, why doesnt she just take a pregnancy test?

Ducy:

Generally if a woman bleeds heavy & is pregnant the heavy bleeding will continue, eventually leading to a "spontaneous termination"; however, the bleeding is awful.

As a woman develops into a more "normal" [usual] cycle she will know which days are horrible for her, then there are some random & out of the ordinary times where we are "off" what is normal for us. I could tell anyone...don't come near me the second day! I usually swore I was dying and bleeding to death; I was convinced I was going to just bleed out! My Hgb & Hct were normally low but after they usually were worse; I was ghostly pale. Hence, the BCP was a God send & Depo eventually had to be used later to stop it all together.

Ovarian cysts can make the pain worse for women! I did find out I was not just anemic but had pernicious anemia.

Oic Sera, I do know that that the bleeding is terrible when you have a "spontaneous termination" my mom went through one when i was about 8. I remember telling my dad.. "someone stabbed mommy" cuz she was bleeding so bad. But i had no idea the circumstances, or symptoms (watever you would like to call them) to experienceing bleeding during pregnancy.

if you've been using protection with spermicide, then chances are you're not pregnant.

sometimes stress, bad eating habits, excessive exercise, etc. can cause a period to be light or irregular.

if she's still worried, take a test.
