My best friend and I talk about sex all the time and just the other day she mentioned to me that she had anal sex before she had regular sex. I thought it was weird.. Though she was only 16 when she lost her virginity. Anyway, I mentioned it to my boyfriend and he said that he TOO had anal before he had regular sex. I'm not curious about it because they've done it and I haven't. I've actually been thinking about it for a while... I don't know how I'd go about telling him that I want to try anal... And are there any positions other than the girl being on her knees? Actually, his favorite sex position is doggy style.. but is there anything more intimate?

Yes, female superior or you on your stomach...they are less uncomfortable and allows for the most amount of control for you...better read up on it around here...condoms for him and lots of lube, etc. There are tons of threads about it.

i also had anal before vaginal sex, but it was not a concensual encounter so i have yet to intentionally experience it...

although my guy once penetrated just a few inches, and we were in spooning position, which i think worked really well.

haha yeah... My girl said that would be the only way she'd try it because it hurt so much when I was erected... I tried partially flacid and there isn't a chance in hell, it is WAY too tight, even with lots of lube.

As to why why many people will engage in anal sex before regular sex, I'm sure that they see it as a way of keeping their virginity intact.

Anal isn't something to rush into. Try staring off with a finger to slowly loosen things up (lube is a must). Once that is comfortable (as it should be so long as you are secure sexually) then move on to bigger things.
