Just a question about this....This is if all 100 women have sex regularly for a year right not just one time? The reason Im askin is because recently I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend it wasnt really sex basically all I did was put it inside her for a few minutes not very deep at all or with and thrusting and I get worried very easily. I know it wasnt smart decision Im just hoping for the best.

The chances of pregnancy are very low. But, if you are the unlucky couple, the odds are irrelevant.
Time for you two to have a rule that any time you both have pants off, you have a condom on and she have vaginal spermicide in her.

How low is very low? For example, the first post says 10 women out of 100 using condoms will fall pregnant, that seems like a fair bit to me for a barrier method. What would be 'safer'; what Joe described, rubbing genitals and a tiny bit of intercourse unprotected, or just using condoms?

Pardon the pun but you want to really split hairs. If you randomly have unprotected intercourse the chance of becoming pregnant that one time is (5/28/4), which equals .045. Very low. But if you do this thirty times, your chances of pregnancy are 50%. Or if 100 women in your school have unprotected sex on any given Friday night, four will become pregnant. Do you want to risk that?
You cite the original post and question the rate of 10 of 100 sexually active women becoming pregnant each year using condoms for protection. Read back there and you find that 85 will become pregnant without protection. If you add spermicide in the vagina before the condom covered penis goes in, then only three will become pregnant. There is no way to answer your question directly. Will that "tiny bit of intercourse" include ejaculation? Have you ever tried to stop ejaculation while in a vagina? How experienced are the two people? How much do they really understand about ejaculatory response? Or that the male genito-urinary system can be full of sperm at any moment? Anytime a penis is in a vagina, there is a chance of pregnancy.

Artha & Joe:
ANYTIME semen comes in contact with vaginal fluids, regardless of the method, you are at risk. I have had a younger couple no intercourse, he ejaculated on her regularly, one time unlucky when it hit the fluids. How was I so sure? Ages and intact hymen...they were not lying. Brandye has also cited diagnosing pregnancy in a virgin who engaged in anal...the semen drips out, hit the fluid, all it takes is one good swimming sperm. Unless you are prepared for consequences potential diseases; use proper protection & recall they are not fool-proof. Of the percentages cited; remember someone has to be the unfortunate statistic.

Okay I have seen many things on using condoms and spermicides, but what about those Trojans that have spermicidal lube on them? I was just wondering because that is what I have been using and was wondering how effective they are compared to the norm.

Has to be 2 separate products. The spermicide on a condom is not enough! Condoms and VCF's work wonders and are not intrusive. If lube is needed, use a jelly or foam. To me there is nothing worse then having a foam flowing around down below! Similar to when I tried the "sponge"...looked like a bubble bath happened and he commented on the taste of it was horrible. VCF's, if you can insert them properly, work great with a condom. They tend to stick to your fingers and you have to allow them to melt much like the vaginal spermicidal inserted suppositories.

So they are not effective thank you. I am very new to sex and although I have become sexually active but I have had a few failed attempts at sex and we still haven't decided what to use. I looked at mme local Schnucks (if you don't have one it is a grocery store) but they had no spermicide, just condoms, lubricant, and morning after pills. Would walgreens or some other store have them and what would it look like. I just can't really afford to get her pregnant but she is not willing to take the pill because her mother would most likely notice the change.
