Hey everyone, I'm new to the message board and just had a question that I've been dieing to ask. *I was just wondering when would the safest time to have sex be without a condom and not have to worry about pregnancy. *I heard that it's safe during a woman's period or for a week or two after. *I was just curious because I know my girlfriend doesn't like the feel of condoms and does not want to try any form of birth control. *So if someone could please reply back, I'd appreciate it.

The answer to your question is: there is no best time. Previously, people had thought that you could predict certain times that might be safer than others. Recently, however, it has been realized that woman's period are different than had been thought. Women's periods vary from woman to woman, so it is impossible to predict when a good time to have sex without protection is. My advice: USE A CONDOM! Either that or have your girlfriend go on the pill. It is very dangerous to have unprotected sex, because of both the risk of STI's(which the pill will not protect you from) and the risk of pregnancy. Also, it isn't worth the worrying afterwards and the fear that she could be pregnant. If you and your girlfriend don't want to use protection, then frankly I doubt you are ready to have sex.

I swear, I swear, I swear...I am going to at least add this to my signature....USE A CONDOM!

I agree with everything Cornelius111 100%. The object is not only not to get pregnant, but not to die from having sex. And don't kid yourself, it CAN happen to you.

I wanted to clarify that there is no safe time to have unprotected sex. There may be times that are less likely to get you pregnant, but predicting those can be almost impossible, and even if you do you can still get pregnant. There is no 100% way to eliminate the chance of pregnancy short of a vasectomy or...ah forgot the name for the woman operation. But even in these cases there have been weird occurrences of people getting pregnant AFTER THE OPERATION. So please, for God's sake, use a condom to at least protect yourself as much as possible.

This is so amazing! I'm not knocking An0n directly, because he/she is not the first person to ask this question. But what truely amazes me that even tho he/she KNOWS that both pregnancy and STDs are possible, he/she still wants to know if htere's a magic way of having unprotected sex - because it FEELS GOOD!

I guesss, it speaks to the reality that EDUCATION is working, but just educating folks is NO GUARANTEE that young folk will make the right choice!

Think about this folks, when you hear about the Government wanting to spend MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars on abstinance education. I wish more folks from Washington could read these posts so the could get a feel for what young people really want information on. Sorry for ranting!

Well thanks guys, unfortunately if you claim their is no safe time to have sex without a condom, looks like the sex will suck for her. Condoms irritate her, and her sister who was on birth control had a few bad side effects. So I'm pretty much clueless on what to do now for her to enjoy sex as much as I do.

An0n...there are MANY forms of birth control and many formula's for the pill. From injections, to depo provera (sp), to the patch. If your GF, and her sister, really want to enjoy safer sex, they should see another Physician for all the options!

There are also condoms made from different materials. Just check to be sure that they also protect against STDs.

Thanks again, but were young. Me and my girlfriend are both 17 and she wouldn't go to extremes such as other forms of birth control. We've been together for awhile and I know she doesn't have any STD's so I guess ill check some other condoms out.
