Hi everyone, I just turned 17 and have been going out with a girl for 2 months. I am a virgin and really don't have experience besides making out. My GF has had sex before but is not too outgoing. We have only made-out and I am having trouble moving onto bigger and better things, we have a good relationship but i feel like my needs aren't being met. My more experienced friends aren't very helpful and only make me doubt our relationship is going anywhere. I went down on her the other night but she stopped me because she was on her period, and she seemed embarrassed, i really just want to get closer to her but i'm finding it difficult. If I want oral sex, do I just ask for it? Thanks for any help.

I don't understand you Americans. Why do you need to wait so long before having sex? I've had five relationships that lasted over two months. Maybe It's just me, but the longest perode of time I've dated anyone before we had sex is about one week, including my first g/f. I don't think that is that uncommon in here. These are just the kinds of problems you have because you wait too long. Sex is just a natural part of what humans do.
I think your girlfriend is too comfortable being where she is now. She doesn't see any reason for going any further with you. She is happy just hanging out with you. Ask her how the thought of going further feels. Your relationship is not only about your needs, although those are very important too, as are hers.
Maybe she had bad experiences the last time she had sex. Maybe it didn't feel good or she broke up soon after that. She might not want to experience that again. I'm just making some educated guesses, you really have to talk to her. Don't pressurize her about anything, don't insist on anything. Take it easy.
And if she is not comfortable with her period, don't try to access that part when it's that time. You could keep track of when she has em.

Second, don't worry about her being embarrassed about that I can see it is reasonable. Don't worry about your friends, everyone brags about stuff, and when was the last time you sat down with your friends and talked about the romantic things you have done for your girlfriends.
