Need a few ideas

So I'm going to this party tomorrow (Saturday) night and its 80's theme and very strictly enforced. I was 7 in 1989, so I have no idea where to even start looking lol. I was thinking of maybe doing the retro NBA look with the short b-ball shorts and super long socks.

Any ideas or suggestions? Pics are a plus as I'm mostly clueless.

Eighty's? Men wore mainly jeans and regular shirts. The style was hair. For women most have that big poofy doo! Look at the movie "Back to the future". That's the main crux of men. Or if into night clubs it was tight leather pants & boots! In the eighty's was when punk entered, some put colored streaks through their hair, or spiked it. Rule was always tight clothes, black, and scrunch boots with swing coats...lot's of make up and big hair!

Just avoid any look by Michael Jackson.......I'm a John Cougar Mellancamp kinda guy.

Go Judd Nelson from The Breakfast Club, chicks love the badboy....even in a John Hughes film.

Tresher is so right! Can't go wrong with The Breakfast Club!! Love that movie!!! Great idea!!

Come on - the 80's are easy! Mostly just crazy hair, acid washed jeans, and extravagant clothing in bright greens, purples, and oranges.

Oedi! Where is a picture of Billy Idol????

OK, sera - here you go...

And I'm sure you'll like this one, too. Maybe you and I should team up someday and become the ultimate blonde punk duo...

Thanks Oedi, you are a sweetie!!!!:D

There she is ..............Debra herself. First off, if you go with the Basketball
shorts THEY MUST BE SHORT (dudes did not play b-ball with long shorts down
to their knees like they do today). Oedi is right about the bold colors and serious
hair. Are you looking to be a member of a "Hair Band." Surely NOT. St. Elmo's Fire,
Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club these should give you a little peak inside
the fashions of the day. You should have fun.
The word Rapture keeps coming to mind.
