The remarkable thing about your story is not that the kid wants sex, but that your son is passing this on to you. To some extent, I'd like to think a good son would tell the guy to stay away from his mother.
You might reconsider the idea of letting him be a house guest.

Well my son is only 12,my other son who is almost 17 doesn't know that his friend has fantasies about me and probably would use physical violence against his friend if he knew.I am thinking of speaking to T's mother next time i see her,to just give her the facts but i'm not sure if i should or not.The age of consent here is 16 but i think that the other party to the relationship is not allowed to be more than two years older.So i may be committing an offence if i slept with him,i'm not sure exactly.If he was 18 i wouldn't have anything to worry about as he is legally an adult then.
Invite the local locksmith over for a little bedroom activity: have him install a deadbolt lock! (or, a new locking doorknob) if this horny young man is going to continue to have sleep overs.

RG, you're worth more than that kid. Period. Yes, he's probably jail bait. Yes, your sons would freak if it happened and they knew. Yes, your son would probably knock his friend's block off if he knew of the fantasies. But to an extent those are all beside the point. RG, you deserve better than a 17 year old kid.
Teen boys have fantasies. So do we all. I don't know that it necessitates embarrassing him to his mother. But don't play into it either. Some fantasies are better left just that--fantasies.
Young men are loaded pistols and will shoot at anything. You being more mature would have the responsibility of doing what is right (if there is such a thing). The complications that could arise from a sexual encounter with this young man are endless.
As a parent, I dont think my sex life is something I want to share with my children.
I would definitely be getting a new lock on my bedroom door, especially if the kid is allowed to stay over again. That said, I would probably be so totally creeped out that I would never let him come back anyway. lol
Unless your gutfeeling tells you that he's up to no good, I'd probably view it as an innocent dream of a teenageboy. You may feel flathered that he finds you attractive, but just let it be that and nothing more :)
Don't get me wrong; I do not think age matters that much in a relationship, but we should be talking about conscenting adults and you should have a sense of equality with you're partner. i doubt that we're talking about that here ;)
