I ju recently went to the doc and found out that I have Bacterial Vaginosis. He said it was caused by different bacteria in the vagina and it took over the good bacteria, not really a certain way you get it. My question is (I forgot to ask the doc) is that since I am being treated (and it's a female infection) does he need to be too before we have sex? I dont' want to get it back and I forgot to ask if he should be treated. I don't think he should b/c it's a infection in the vagina, not like a yeast infection.
Can anyone help?:confused:st

Until you find out what you have; why risk the spread of ANY infection? Call the doctors office when they open...
I do know what I have, I said I have bacterial vaginosis, I know that I can't have sex while taking the medication but I didn't get to ask about him needing some, just thought someone might know.
Call the doctor& they will have an answer--easiest. And his health is his issue. Your posts are off for a normal relationship. Same day 1-about shaving your vagina. 2- Infection & does he require treatment. 3- Questions about the relationship & his behavior.
Stop and think about what you are doing and the example you are setting for your child.
Bacterial vaginosis is a catch-all diagnosis that includes too many of any kind of bacteria that should not be in the vagina. Most times it is enterobacteria - which belong in the intestine.
There is a possibility that hwe could develop a urethritis. Simply use condoms until the treatment period is over - you have taken all your anti-biotics as directed.
I am with sera. Talk to the doctor and get your questions coordinated.
