My left nipple started hurting and stinging this morning, and it has just gotten worse trough the day.
I haven't been wearing a bra, I haven't used products I'm not familiar with and no perfume. So I don't think it's allergy - besides it's ONLY the areola/the nipple itself, not the skin around.
Should I seek medical attention or just see if it goes away on it's own?
(I'm 21 and NOT pregnant btw. ;) )

If you have redness, swelling, tenderness, or any discharge you should see a doc about it. Assuming you cannot attribute it to the fact you wore a shirt the day before which would have caused the irritation.

No I can't. My underwear was a sports top I have worn before without complications and a loose shirt. So it can't be that.
Guess I'll have to see the doctor then. :(
I encounter irritation of a nipple once in a while without any rational explanation. Wait a day or two.
my girlfriend had that and it turned out after she freaked out and went to the doctor and scared the crap out of me, thinking she had an std....it was just a embroidered letter on a shirt that had done it, there was a backing on it that had some chemical on it and had irritated it....let alone the week long "investigation" had my blood pressure through the roof...so its prolly nothing
