Morning Wood

It seems that I read alot online in fitness magazines about guys waking up with morning wood daily. I never do wake up with moring wood and actually have only waken up with it less than 5 times in my life that I can remember. I feel that something is wrong with me. Is this true?

I have read up on this before. The question I put to you is Do you have an active sex life??? Men who do not have an active sex life will wake up with morning wood more often, simply because they are not getting any. Think about it!!!

I do occasionally. Can't say what would be considered "normal" I can tell you that you can't believe everything you read in magazines. As long as it gets hard when you need it, I wouldn't be concerned.

Nothing is "normal." Some men do and some do not. In adolescence and without frequent masturbation, most young men do often awake erect.

I frequently wake up with 'morning wood'. Not every morning, but quite often. It happens more often after a period of abstinence. I'm 51, by the way, so its not only young men who experience this.

My sex life is fairly active...I have sex 2-3 times a week either solo or with wife. I had not thought about morining wood being a result of not getting any instead of low testoterone or that I am not manly man.

My husband and I have been together for almost 30 years and I can assure you we have a very active sex life. He wakes up with wood most every morning unless we've had a late night session and he's just wore out. He's 51 I'm almost 48.

Some do wake up with morning wood, others don't. I happen to wake up most mornings with it. Even though things don't jump to attention like they used to when having sex, the morning wood is there and it is nice to wake up with it hard and nice. Too bad the wife doesn't take advantage of it. I do like to feel it and will give it a few strokes.

HMMM...maybey I should seek the advice of a doctor and see if something is wrong with me. It seems that a majority of guys wake with morning wood and it may a signal that something is wrong. Honestly, I feel less than much of the time so this would be the norm for me.

If it's bothering you this much, a medical opinion and a physical may set your mind at ease.

She said that most guys get an erection while sleeping, some wake up with it and some don't wake up with it. Her little test for anyone concerned about this was to take a strip of postal stamps and wrap the flaccid framazama with it. If you get an erection during the evening sleep the stamps will break apart at the perforated edges. Only use stamps because they have those little perforations and it won't choke off your crank!

i used to. but when i turned 17 i stoped and now only get them occasionally

My boyfriend always gets morning wood and i love to please him in the morning. Maybe you should seek medical advice (?)

Does it honestly bother you that you don't have morning erections? Most times guys just have to pee to get rid of it. Personally, I don't want to wake up horny if I don't get any....lol

Recently it has begun to bother me due to the number of articles which mention it. Also, there are some other issues outlying issues, which stem from way back and some from recent years, that cause me to think about this issue maybe more than most.

Say hey....as mentioned earlier, if what we read is ALWAYS going to be believed I am in deep trouble! I do not have 9 inches like so many guys out there would like one to believe they have, I do not have "super" abs or the biggest arms etc BUT, when I need to use my erection it never (not yet anyway) fails me......well, there was that one time when I could not stand on my own two feet due to alcohol so could not expect him to stand on his own....

I do not often awaken with a morning erection but do often have alittle more "life" in my member then "normal" state of flacid!! Anyway, when I spoon my wife in the morning that is usually enough to get a little growth!

Despite what I have said above, if there are "other issues" which cause some concern it is always best to get it checked out.

My theory is that its because you have a full bladder. I regularly wake up with morning wood and I always need the toilet. If I dont have morning wood I usually dont need to go to the toilet. I've no idea if this is true but my best guess is 'cause your full bladder is pressing on your prostate which perhaps causes the woody.

> My theory is that its because you have a full bladder.

There may be a coorolation; however, I suggest reading this for more on erections.

Morning Erections--the lighter side

Erections, spontaneous or otherwise, are a fact of life. Enjoy them, do not attempt to analyze them.

As an only child I was never embarrassed by them until going off to college and living with two other roommates. We all got them; we were all embarrassed by them when one of the guys walked by our bed observing a bulge in the sheet; and then one day we all sort of decided to laugh them off and not try to roll over or hide them any more. We all found it much easier to comment favorably on them upon arising each morning and complimenting each other on our prowess {real or imagined) in order to get our day off to a good start as we began searching for girls on campus.

Once in a while one or the other of us would talk about how to get rid of Morning Erections and this was probably the beginning of some bi-curious explorations.

That's easier said than done, especially when that "wood" is pointing rigidly skyward and resists being pulled downward.

I have issues with low amounts of c** and low sperm count which at times weigh in on me. The last time I went to the MD for a check up I asked for the MD to include a testasterone test in with my blood work. I stated my problems listed above as reasoning. He did include the testoserone in the blood work. He told me that the results were in the low normal range and I was ok. But I can't help to think that I have low testoserone production which leads to the problems stated above. Anyway I guess being a male anything that seems to infrindge on us being "manly" bothers us.

My b/f usually wakes up w/ morning wood.. but like some of the others suggested... it just seems to make it harder for him to piss in the mornings.

It's like that scene in 40 yr old virgin...when he's got a stiffy walking into the bathroom.. he sits on the toliet and pee flys up and hits him in the face LOL
hilarious!! :p

Anyway, the gel most directly affects your libido and energy level, but not necessarily volume of ejaculation (and sperm count has almost nothing to do with the volume). So unless you feel your sex drive flagging or you're unusually tired or depressed I wouldn't worry your testosterone is too low.
low testoterone or that I am not manly man.
Testosterone has a lot less to do with being a "manly man" than one might think. I am sure one of the trolling doctors will correct me on this, but my doctor told me that I have borderline High levels of testosterone, but I am as sweet as I can be to people I like and people I meet for the first time. It has to do with your attitudes toward life and your personal feelings. I am also one of the most sensitive guys I know, and am not afraid to admit that, but the sight of a sexy girl gets me hard still. I don't particularly like to fight, and I usually won't fight for someone I find attractive unless I know the attraction is reciprocated. This doesn't make me any less "manly," it just means I am more in touch with my sensitive side, something a lot more men should try to achieve...

I am not a likes to fight guy and being a manly man has nothing to do with that at all. It is just that my wife and I have faced infetlity issues and it is difficult to think that my part in this is my low sperm count and low testosterone.

That's why you pee in the shower.

Yes, girls, lots of men pee in the shower. Try not to think about it when you are taking your bath. ;)

Well it also relates to what position you sleep in. If you apply pressure, like sleeping with your belly down, it might result on MW. I have almost everytime, but if I just lie flat on my back, sometimes I dont get it. Depends. Don't worry about it. If your sex drive / stamina drops in the act, THEN you should worry.

There is actually some merit to this theory. You can't pee while you have an erection, so having a woody while you're sleeping is one way the body can avoid having you be incontinent, or having to get up before you're ready to hit the bathroom. (I know I hate that!)

If this is true it means a lot of guys with a morning erection aren't horny as the main reason. Also fits that as soon as you do take care of this erection in the fun way, you immediately have to pee. The woody was initially there for a different reason.
That's why you pee in the shower.

If it's being washed down the drain "fresh" there's probably not much reason to freak out about it. There's probably more germs in other "normal" residue from taking a shower than from this. Some people brush their teeth in the shower and spit . . . . that's probably worse. :D

hey whatever the reason why the wood is there, it's there, might as well use it! I dont like to waste mine, I ues it! Dont know what girls think about that :D

my man doesnt wake up with one every morning, he does sometimes but not often. some people do and some people dont
You can't pee while you have an erection
Not quite. Difficult but possible. Learned that myself.

I sleep face down and often wake with an erection. I was told it was the pressure of a full bladder on the prostate gland but I reckon in my case it must also be the pressure of my body on my penis.

My woman loves it - I have woken on more than one occasion being fiddled with down there by her!

I hear the theory about a full baldder but I wake up every moring with one. I have to pee as soon as I get up and I am as limp as a wet noodle. The idea of not waking up with wood just seems to add to my esteem issues. But it seems like it may not be a big thing.

I believe we are splitting the petals of the rose. :) whatever the reason it might be for morning wood, just use it :D best thing in the world, even because you are energetic when you wake up :D

I reckon it must be some sort of natural night time reflex, seeing as most guys seem to get it. I used to think it was due to a full bladder too, but I don't think so any more.

Consider it a bonus, and put it to good use.
