The taste depends on the progress of her menstrual cycle, but I'd say it's normally kind of a musty smell, it's rather difficult to describe. Not revolting or anything like that, but I'd say it's an acquired taste.

Honestly I prefer the taste when she's menstruating, though the messiness gets annoying, heh. I was prone to nosebleeds a lot when I was a kid so I guess I just got to like the taste of blood. (Another acquired taste, lol. )
