Men's white briefs

White briefs have been around for generations so men do wear them, myself included. But do young guys that are dating and having sex really wear them? or are boxers and boxer briefs the only way to go?

Ladies, have you ever actually had a guy on a date strip down for sex and have white briefs on? What would you think of this? Have you ever slept with a guy overnight and had him sleep next to you wearing white briefs?

Guys, have you ever worn white briefs on a date? Would you ever do this? Have you ever slept with your lady in your underwear when you had on white briefs? or did you make sure to wear boxers for those occasions?

I suspect we live in a boxers world when it comes to sexual relations no matter what the clothing companies say.

Tidy, whiteys are fine. Personally I have seen both, equally, I never thought odd of either. Strip for me? I don't care which is coming off! Yes, have had men sleep in either.

Would you rather see a girl strip down to a thong, or granny-panties?

Do the courteous thing and get some nice boxers!

I don't own a pair of white briefs, only boxer briefs and boxers. If I did, I still wouldn't wear them....ever.

There is no stigma for or against either type. My guess is that briefs (white or not) would have been phased out never to be seen in stores again if sales dropped. This should be proof enough.

What one wears or does not is simply a preference. I tried boxers once and found managing erections and where they popped up to be a constant battle. Once was enough.

When I first met my Ex- her choice in wardrobe was different that what I was accustomed to and at first I did not like the way she dressed, yet there was really nothing wrong with the clothing, only my exposure to them. I decided to over look some of the knee-high boots and other garb because it just didn't matter and certainly was no reflection on her or her personality--just my perception that soon changed as I got to know her better. It has been said that "clothing makes the man" yet I would offer that it is what is beneath the clothing and inside the skin that really counts. The rest is just window dressing, so if someone prefers boxers (plaid, striped, plain, etc.) or briefs, it should not be a reflection on personality or character.

I always figured a guy would have a few briefs, if boxers were their preference, or a few boxers if briefs were. I don't have an issue with either or.
If you are self-conscience about wearing briefs make lite of it. "I'm a brief man.". Obviously this is something that would be said in the bedroom. And as long as they are "white white" and have a proper fit I see no issue in them. It only a turn off if the fit is wrong and it look like there is a load in them. Saggy butt briefs as I call them. Yet if the waistand in either the briefs or the boxers is gone that is not so hot either.
Even though I mostly go commando I own enough panties not to. Not big on butt floss but have a pair or two. I have a variety of fabrics and styles, where am I going, what am I wearing and who am I going with have a big part in what, if, I wear.
Having lived with a man who wore briefs yes I have slept next to him wearing his white briefs. No biggie.

Yeah what he wears isn't an issue for me either. It's his body and he needs to be comfortable, so he wears what he wants as far as I'm concerned. If they're coming off at some point anyway, does it really matter what they look like? Especially since I can't see in the dark.........

So don't wear ratty drawers, as a male or a female. Int it's not that dark.

You don't know my eyes LOL

i have known a few people that can't see in the dark

As long as they are clean, as he is willing to do such a "strip", as long as he looks well-groomed, no difference if silk boxers or tidy-whiteys! It all lies in what he is about and what's under them! Having been married; either are easy to wash; it about what he is comfy in. And yes; there are days I want my "Granny-panties"! LOL! However, they are not meant for a "strip" or a new relationship. If he loves me; he can do the same with the undies.

I know people who can't see in the dark either. lol
I have pretty bad eyesight, but luckily I can see pretty good in the dark. I hate having to turn on a light, it's that brightness after getting use to the dark that makes me go blind, it HURTS.

And see for me it's glare, which gets worse the darker it is. For example I don't drive at night because the headlights bother my ability to see. The only retina I have that functions has been damaged and it just is what it is that I have trouble seeing well at certain times. I nearly always wear shades outside, including when its cloudy-makes the transition go faster when I walk back indoors. And it sounds odd but especially when it's snowy-that white snow is incredibly reflective.

And meanwhile back at the ranch....I'm fairly conservative in the clothing dept, so I very typically wear the grannies and rarely get complaints. The lack of frequency actually seems to make it a little more special when I do wear the pretty/lacy/whatever ones.

ohhhhhhhhh, it's a boxer world..............but fine egyptian clothed boxers.

Only if pressed properly...

I have no problem with white briefs. I remember a time when we laughed at guys who wore boxers. My underwear drawer currently contains boxers of several colors and designs ( the Rolling Stones boxers were topic of discussion a while back), boxer briefs ( gray and black), three briefs that I don't even know what they are called ( with the pouch for the package), oh the Jakk in the Boxer ( what it says on the waistband) Santa Claus boxers, three G strings and I guess the only reason there are no white briefs is that there have not been any in my preferred brand when I have been underwear shopping.

If I had white briefs I would not sleep in them. I sleep bottomless. :)

I find that I like better support if I am wearing tighter pants so I would wear briefs with them. Sometimes I just don't want to flop about, sometimes I do:p
I don't usually strip that much anymore-well there was my birthday party a few months back, but that's where the G strings come in-or out actually.

I think this is the most bizarre thing I have ever written in one of these forums. I really should not do this on a Friday night.

What's wrong with writing that on a Friday night?

come on dlb, what would be better to talk about? The boxers with the pouch in the front is that what is called jakk in the boxer? Goof is pretty much a brief during the day, boxer at night guy, but I gave him a pair of those for his 60th last Feb. Maybe for his 61st i'll send him some bum floss, what i call g strings). We may not be lovers anymore but we are still friends.

jakk in the boxer is the brand name of my Santa boxers

that is kinda funny.

Is that where rudolph the red-nosed reindeer hides?

I have worn solely boxers since I was in the 9th grade. I've never liked the look of white briefs...they're weird. OP; If you're self conscious about them, but you like the way they feel, try another color. Even though I haven't worn white briefs in over 12 years, I don't think I'd have a problem wearing a black pair. Ladies, what do you think, does color make a difference in this discussion? Assuming the briefs are properly fitted of course ;)

I think that whatever a man wears is his choice. Proper fit and good condition is just what it should be. If boxers make you happy then wear boxers, if it's briefs wear briefs. I think putting on either that should be in the trash, or the rag bin, cannot make you happy.

Fine Egyptian Cotton Boxers........no need for needless patterns , seersucker ok,
second option one's with the little horse at the bottom left............

one that goes neigh?

Well, I personally prefer boxers to briefs, mainly because I used to do laundry for my dad and brother, and typically associate briefs to them (hard to fantasize something your dad wears on another guy, creepy).
I can't stand guy thongs or g-strings. They just seem to feminine, and on some guys, it just seem to hide what should be proudly displayed, but as long as they come off eventually... :)
Just because it's a preference doesn't mean I'd stop dating a guy because he wore one or the other though.
Hopefully it was helpful...

Too funny...my former fiance used to hang out of them (yes they were fit properly) ; I never understood until he tried to wear a pair of shorts one day on my urging...now I know why he likes long pants or would wear the longer shorts! As long as a guy is clean & neat; the undies are coming off.

boxers baby

I think ever since maybe 5th grade I've worn boxers, more comfortable, easier to move around in, and don't feel cramped up, also lets your cock-n-balls breathe a bit.

As for sexiness, no clue, I just wear them because they are more comfortable for me.

I did have to wear tighty whiteys in boot camp when I was in US Navy, but as soon as boot camp was over and was stationed to a ship I went directly back to boxers.

As for sleeping next to a woman, I either wear my boxers or nude, depending on if we are sexually active yet, as yes I have slept in bed with women that I have not had sex with, and just felt if I slept nude that would send a bad message, so i leave them on.

I also have 3 pairs of men's thongs! never worn them once, a women I knew a while back bought them for me, I looked at them and placed them in my dresser, still in the package, they just look very uncomfortable. I like to see women in thongs, but I don't know how they do it! Although they don't have cock-n-balls to cramp up, but I'm sure the string in their butt can't be too comfortable!

I wear boxers to bed occasionally, usually only if I'm on my own. Otherwise, underwear makes it much easier to hide erections and that is what I always wear under clothes. I don't have white though, various other colours.

When I sleep with my gf, if we have sex then naked. If not, then sometimes underwear or sometimes naked.

I usually wear nothing under my clothes however I sometimes wear a thong. I like the feel of the strap. Being a nudist, I wear nothing while at home.

I'm back

Ok thanks for the advice. I've come to conclude:

1. Boxers are far better for a young guy dating. They look better, they give more room for erections and they are better if you are cuddling, spooning or sleeping in your underwear with your lady.

2. Boxer guys should just wear them all the time.

3. Briefs guys that are dating should buy boxers and wear them at least some of the time if not all the time.

4. Young guys going out on dates should always wear boxers if they think they might get sex.

5. If you get a lucky surprise in the form of unplanned sex, it's fine if you have briefs on. You and your lucky lady will both be very comfortable if you wind up cuddling or sleeping against each other with you in just briefs. It's normal.

6. Many guys do like briefs for comfort reasons. In the long term, everybody wants their partner to be comfortable. So once you get into a long term relationship, men that like briefs will probably wear them at least some of the time. That means that many of you ladies will wind up spending at least some of your evenings and nights cuddled up against a guy wearing just briefs. You'll both be perfectly comfortable and it sounds like the ladies here are ok with that.

I'm a "briefs" guy btw but I do have some boxers and don't mind wearing them.

Fertility specialists recommend that men use boxers if they and their partners are trying to conceive because briefs which hold the testicles close to the body and do not allow them to rise and drop for temperature changes reduce a man's sperm count.

keep that in mind;)

I like boxer briefs personally... so yeah my $0.02

This is probably true in theory but does it really make any difference at all in real life? Has anybody ever proven this is true? I don't think anybody has every proven it false. If this is true, then in theory guys should be wearing shorts as much as possible with boxers or nothing at all underneath. Scots wearing kilts commando should be popping out lots of kids.

If I was married and trying to have kids, I would definitely wear boxers just to do everything I could do. I don't know if it would matter. Guys dating usually do not want babies but they should be wearing boxer shorts for other reasons. Condoms are good birth control. Briefs are not - unless you never take them off with your special woman!

Yes, if infertility is an issue the medical infertility specialists recommend no briefs.

what she said- oh and Justsomebody, fertility specialists also recommend NOT abusing and being kicked in the nuts at football matches. Now you know why the Scots' birthrate is not higher. So glad my Scottish ancestors crossed the ocean before soccer was invented!
what she said
Which she? The other she said it should not make any difference in reality!

dang that was quick! I was quoting you Sera!
dang that was quick! I was quoting you Sera!
Gotcha! LOL!

sperm count!

I have never tested this nor have seen any tests, but I do know that there is muscles in your sack that pull your testicles closer to your body to warm them, or let them hang lower if they are too hot.. keeping them at perfect temperature, like a built in thermostat :)

I could see where briefs would lower sperm count as it would be constant heat and never letting the sack hang and get away from the heat of your body. Therefor cooking the sperm I guess you'd say.

So yes that makes perfect sense so I'm sure it is true and has been proven somewhere.

I think that it is a very generational thing. I am in my early 20's...and not one guy that I have ever slept with, or who's underwear preferences I have knowledge of, wears whitey's. However, I do know my dad to be a briefs man, I don't think he even owns one pair of boxers. Also, I work in a nursery with 2-4 yr olds, and babysit quite often, so I am well aware that for young boys, boxers aren't really worn either. So my question is, what will my male peers be wearing in about another 20 years, having started out wearing briefs as kids then transitioning to boxers and nothing but. Will the trend be to return to briefs, or will boxers become more and more prominent among older males, and briefs be relegated to "children's" underwear only? Personally, underwear choice is certainly not a deal breaker for me, and not really something I would be likely to even mention to a guy, I would just be surprised to come across a guy my age that wears briefs just because I haven't yet. Though I do think that colored briefs might be more attractive than white, just because white starts to look dingy and dirty faster than colors do.

On another note, I myself have some underwear that were designed to look like male briefs, but are actually women's undies. I've been told by more than one bf that they look hotter than my "sexy" panties. Someone care to explain that one? lol I think they suit my personality better at any rate..I am something of a tomboy

what men (and women) consider stylish in men's undies in 20 years will depend on fashion designers and how much people are willing into buy into designers' marketing. And who knows? Maybe textile technology will influence also. Men's style boxers and briefs for women have been around since the early 80s. I am sure they will be around for a while longer. I think girls look cute in boxers. I have some pics here of girls at my birthday party in boxers. But you can only see the pictures from the parties you attend so don't ask:D

I must admit that thongs are very comfortable. :) Or at least the lace ones I have, the other kind, haven't tried yet (solid string).

Getting kicked in the balls isn't a good idea whether you are wearing briefs or shorts commando. A cup is probably your only hope of protection if you are getting kicked down there.

Yeah, I guess that is the marketing part of it. Boxers are more expensive so I guess clothing companies make more money on them. They would probably rather have briefs be considered "children's underwear" only and have nice looking boxers be the standard men's underwear that almost all American men wear. That might just be what happens someday.

As for the other issue, how do birth rates in the US (where boxers are common) compare with birth rates in European countries (where briefs rule)?

Do briefs rule in Europe? You know I only buy lingerie in Europe, never have bought underwear for myself. Next time I am going to have to check this out.

It should be pretty easy to look up the birthrates of industrialized countries, but as I recall most of western Europe has a lower birthrate than the US. This is one of the reasons that Africans and Asians are filling the job market there.

I kind of had the impression that European men are into briefs, Speedos and so forth and that boxers are an American thing. Is that true? Maybe I'm wrong on that.

I love men's white briefs on men - they show him off quite nicely!

Boxer-briedfs look orthopedic - like he's wearing a truss or something and boxers, flannel or silk, are for sex parties in between 'bouts' as it were to keep him 'comfy' and not too obvious.

As to the fertility issue- just how many children do you want?

Not wearing underwear at the moment:D I expect to restock my underwear drawer soon and it will surely include, briefs, no prob with white, boxers and possibly boxer briefs.

What I do not plan to own more of are the briefs which do not have a fly. Way too much trouble.

And tis the season for the Santa boxers and Santa hat G string--woohoo!!!

I am a boxer man myself. Just how I grew up. Briefs are very uncomfortable for me. (not bragging its just too constricting).

Boxer briefs are also just as popular as regular boxers for me. I will wear them to the gym or any time I am doing activites that require support.

The beauty of boxers though is the fact that you can wear them around the house or in front of female friends and its not a horrible thing since they dont show off anything and they look like shorts lol.
