Is Chivalry Dead?

What do yall think? I mean it seems to that almost all the *******s in this world were once pretty chivalrous and they just got jerked around way too much. And Im starting to think that women dont really want it anymore.

Well I always respect a gentleman. But I guess theres a difference between being polite and sensitive, and being so passive you get walked over. That is definitely not attractive when a man simply says "yes dear" to everything you say and never stands up for his own wants/needs/wishes. Also, its nicer when a man does something chivalrous once and a while when you're not expecting, like randomly bringing home your favorite chocolates "just because" or buying that new DVD you want that came out today, without even being asked.

Ducy...you have many years to go....stop. You sould too dramatic. If a woman treats you poor & you have good gestures DUMP HER AND TELL HER THAT HER BEHAVIOR IS POOR AT BEST. AS LONG AS MEN OR WOMEN TOLERATE GARBAGE YOU CONTINUE TO GET IT AND SOMEONE TAUGHT THEM IT WAS OKAY.

I think curious put it best. Women seem to enjoy the sweet and caring guy for awhile, but then they always want you to be "a man". You need to make sure that you always act who you really are and dont constantly go out of your way to be the perfect partner. I had that issue for awhile and was the knight in shining armor compared to most guys and found that it was attractive for awhile, but then the interest is lost and more of the bad boys and jerks get the girls. Doesnt mean you cannot be yourself and caring, but look for girls that appreciate your qualities.

If you let people, both women and men, walk all over you, they will. That's not only with regards to a sexual partner either. As has been said, women still appreciate chivalry, but you can't go with it full throttle all the time.

I believe a lot of girls have a ways to go in their growing up and thus do not appreciate it. It takes a w.o.m.a.n. and one who has learned more about the workings of the world, the people in it and human interactions.

Life without dancing?
I don't think so......

The feet may learn the steps;
yet only the spirit can dance!

Dancing is the fastest way to get
a girl alone and into your arms in public.

The Tango smolders and burns. It ignites the
heart, the soul, and yes, the libido.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass,
it's about learning how to Dance in the Rain!

Dance as if nobody is watching.

Yea, either that or a girl who has been completly stomped on by previous guys. It's kind of sad really.

Yes, chivalry is dead. Women don't need a knight in shining armor to protect them from the big bad world. It's the 21st century for christssakes...

There's a difference between protecting a woman and showing her respect.

The word chivlary evokes notions of medival times and is associated
with heroic/gallant deeds. So, the roots of this word involve valor,
protection and "knightly" qualities. I think it is incorrect to simply
determine that because someone is trying to be a gentleman that
they are showing disrespect for a lady. I do think that in different
regions of the country (speaking USA specifically) that customs are
different and actions can be construed differently. I, for one, was
raised to open door for ladies, remove your coat if a lady is cold, wait
for a lady to sit at dinner before I sit. Of course, to some that is silly
but to others who were raised and taught such it sort of goes without
thinking. So, probably better to not judge someone who thinks they are
doing or acting in a chilvarious manner. Oedi you do have some valid
points though.
