It's definitly more about how you use it... However, there is definitly such a thing as to big...at least for me... I had a guy who was about 13" and it just got uncomfortable...

Ok for oral larger than 8 is going to make me gag, but for anal or vaginal the bigger, the better. I would say that biggest I have been exposed to is approx 11.
