Well, I do this at the behest of HerPleasure06 via demonbuttercup... *

His reasoning, and I happen to agree, is that many of the election topics have to do with sex, so the election has some bearing on this board. Abortion, stem cell research, gay marriage. *Here's your chance to tell everyone what you think.

PS. *I hope everyone appreciates that I managed to type the current presidential office holder's name and didn't just list him as "The Shrub". *Well, I guess that tells everyone where I stand... as if there were any doubt.

Thanks demon and oberon(glad you listed the reason i had stated too)
So it takes 3 board members to start a poll… lol, that raises 2 interesting questions. 1) wonder how many sexinfo members to screw in a light bulb? 2) how well do shrubs burn? *

thetease13 has a spectacular aura about
If my voted mattered (I'll explain why it doesn't in a minute), I would be voting for Kerry.

Now, I know some of you will bitch about this but hey, it's my choice and I don't want to hear the whining about how I need to vote, so just stop your speech right now. *I have voted before but If I did in fact vote in this election (which I will most likely not be doing) my vote for Kerry would not matter in my state. *I live in Texas.
For those of you who don't know what that means, it means that Bush will win the electoral college vote for my state. *No matter what the people say, they will cast their vote for Bush no matter what. This is Bush's state. His parents live here. He lives here. His people live here. He was the "governor" here. He wins, Kerry loses. The end.
If Kerry does in fact win this election, 4 years from now you will see me at the voting poll, more than likely voting for him. *But this time around? *No. *My meaningless vote in this state is not worth the gas money.
And don't tell me about how I could vote on the other issues in my city. *I do not live in a city limits. *I live on the outskirts of it...which means, I can only vote on state issues or county issues....which there happen to be very very few of and most of them, is one sided anyways. *Trust me. *I've had the same sheriff in my area (and he's good, don't get me wrong) for god knows how many years because he is the only one that runs.

Oh, HerPleasure, it takes about 20 board members to screw in a light bulb... One to actually screw it in, and about 19 to tell him/her what they did was wrong and why... *

Bush voter here. I personally can't imagine having Kerry for a President. This country will see a steady decline under his administration. I do feel having a strong defense is the most important thing we should be thinking about and with his flip flopping on the issues and his idea of a kinder war on terror. Please, it could turn into a nightmare.

I know what you mean Tease... i live in FL.. "the other Bush state" lol.
i picked kerry although id really rather vote neither and vote Nader, but then people say you are just throwing your vote away.
i saw Nader on the jon stewart show... he seemed pretty cool. thats what i want in a president lol.

at least nader and kerry seem to somewhat know what they are talking about...lol.
i love those books of Bushisms... those crack me up *

although, i was just watching the news about the hurricane and Jeb can actually speak spanish...very impressive. better than his bro.

i'm not a huge fan of george bush.....but he seems like a decent enough guy. he's comes off as a sort of a dimwit, but a kindly, good natured one at least. and it's nice having a president that won't always bow to foriegn pressure.

john kerry's quasi-socialist voting record disgusts me. if i wanted to live in some PC leftist UN-controlled puppet regime i'd move to europe.
his "government knows best" attitude annoys me to no end.
not to mention the fact that in a recent press release, kerry was actually endorsed for the presidency by the Red Chinese.
now hmmmm, when a totalitarian expansionist enemy nation, that once made a veiled threat to nuke los angeles, endorses a candidate for the US president, they must have a reason. why is it a country that routinely plans and prepares and trains for war with the US wants john kerry in power so badly?
so generally whichever candidate the chinese endorse i'll likely vote for the other guy.
so i guess it's a bush vote for me.

personally i'd like to see a libertarian administration in power they more accurately reflect my views (libertarian is way different then "liberal" by the way, read thier platform) but that isn't likely to happen. voting for the libertarian party at this stage of the game would essentially be a vote for Komrade Kerry.

Well, I'm voting for Bush. Having said that however, overall I feel pretty cynical when it comes to politics of any kind. The candidates will say whatever they feel the public wants to hear. I don't like the bashing tactics from either side. For once I would like to see a campaign that does not start attacking someone's past. I mean come on, I don't think there is anyone that hasn't done something in the past that they wish they hadn't done. It's ridiculous. I feel that Bush is doing a good job overall and I don't see any reason not to vote for him.

As for the sex issues, well I don't think it would be a good idea to get into my views and opinions on those topics.

Just thought I'd add this from another forum. *

THE PRESDIENT’S RESUME

GEORGE W. BUSH
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
LAW ENFORCEMENT:
I was arrested in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 1976 for driving under the influence of alcohol. I pled guilty, paid a fine, and had my driver's license suspended for 30 days. My Texas driving record has been ‘lost’ and is not available.

MILITARY:
I joined the Texas Air National Guard and went AWOL. I refused to take a drug test or answer any questions about my drug use. By joining the Texas Air National Guard, I was able to avoid combat duty in Vietnam.

COLLEGE:
I enrolled in Yale University, in Connecticut in 1964 and graduated in 1968, with a low C average. I was a cheerleader. My gramps, Papa Bush, was Senator from Connecticut from 1952-1963, while pappy was a Congressman from Texas from 1967 to 1970.

PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:
I ran for U.S. Congress and lost. I began my career in the oil business in Midland, Texas, in 1975. I bought an oil company, but couldn't find any oil in Texas. The company went bankrupt shortly after I sold all my stock.

I bought the Texas Rangers baseball team in a sweetheart deal that took land using taxpayer money. With the help of my father and our friends in the oil industry (including Enron CEO Ken Lay), I was elected governor of Texas.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS GOVERNOR OF TEXAS
I changed Texas pollution laws to favour power and oil companies, making Texas the most polluted state in the Union. During my tenure, Houston replaced Los Angeles as the most smog-ridden city in America.

I cut taxes and bankrupted the Texas treasury to the tune of billions in borrowed money.

I set the record for the most executions by any governor in American history. With the help of my brother, the governor of Florida, and my father's appointments to the Supreme Court, I became President after losing by over 500,000 votes.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS PRESIDENT:
I am the first President in U.S. history to enter office with a criminal record.

I invaded and occupied two countries at a continuing cost of over one billion dollars per week.

I spent the U.S. surplus and effectively bankrupted the U.S. Treasury.

I shattered the record for the largest annual deficit in U.S. history.

I set an economic record for most private bankruptcies filed in any
12-month period.

I set the all-time record for most foreclosures in a 12-month period.

I set the all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the U.S. stock market.

In my first year in office, over 2 million Americans lost their jobs.

I'm proud that the members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in U.S. history. My ‘poorest millionaire’, Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.

I set the record for most campaign fund-raising trips by a U.S. President.

I am the all-time U.S. and world record-holder for receiving the most corporate campaign donations. My largest lifetime campaign contributor, and one of my best friends, Kenneth Lay, presided over the largest corporate bankruptcy fraud in U.S. History, Enron.

My political party used Enron private jets and corporate attorneys to assure my success with the U.S. Supreme Court during my election decision.

I have protected my friends at Enron and Halliburton against investigation or prosecution. More time and money was spent investigating the Monica Lewinsky affair than has been spent investigating one of the biggest corporate rip-offs in history.

I presided over the biggest energy crisis in U.S. history and refused to intervene when corruption involving the oil industry was revealed.

I presided over the highest gasoline prices in U.S. history

I changed the U.S. policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts.

I appointed more convicted criminals to administration than any President in U.S. history.

I created the Ministry of Homeland Security, the largest bureaucracy in the history of the United States government.

I've broken more international treaties than any President in U.S.
history.

I am the first President in U.S. history to have the United Nations remove the U.S. from the Human Rights Commission.

I withdrew the U.S. from the World Court of Law.

I refused to allow inspector's access to U.S. "prisoners of war" detainees and thereby have refused to abide by the Geneva Convention.

I am the first President in history to refuse United Nations election inspectors (during the 2002 U.S. election).

I set the record for fewest numbers of press conferences of any President since the advent of television.

I set the all-time record for most days on vacation in any one-year period. After taking off the entire month of August, I presided over the worst security failure in U.S. history.

I garnered the most sympathy for the U.S. after the World Trade Centre attacks and less than a year later made the U.S. the most hated country in the world, the largest failure of diplomacy in world history.

I have set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously protest me in public venues (15 million people), shattering the record for protests against any person in the history of mankind.

I am the first President in U.S. history to order an unprovoked, pre-emptive attack and the military occupation of a sovereign nation. I did so against the will of the United Nations, the majority of U.S. citizens, and the world community.

I have cut health care benefits for war veterans and support a cut in duty benefits for active duty troops and their families - in wartime.

In my State of the Union Address, I lied about our reasons for attacking Iraq and then blamed the lies on our British friends.

I am the first President in history to have a majority of Europeans (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and security.

I am supporting development of a nuclear "Tactical Bunker Buster," a WMD.

I have so far failed to fulfil my pledge to bring Osama Bin Laden [sic] to justice.

RECORDS AND REFERENCES:
All records of my tenure as governor of Texas are now in my father's library, sealed and unavailable for public view. All records of SEC investigations into my insider trading and my bankrupt companies are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public view.

All records or minutes from meetings that I, or my Vice President, attended regarding public energy policy are sealed in secrecy and unavailable for public review.
To this I'll add the first president in history to try to amend the US Constitution to INCLUDE discrimination.

With this regime in office, I sometimes feel like a person in pre-WWII Germany watching the coming horror and being unable to get anyone to do anything about it. *With four more years of these people, I could easily see myself in a concentration camp. *(And No, I don't feel as if I'm exaggerating.) *Dubya and his cronies scare the @#$% out of me!
