I just stumbled across your post, and I'm quite new to the site as well. While I haven't been awakened because I was the one masturbating, I cannot tell you how many times I've awakened to find my husband with his hand on his penis. Sometimes he's actually stroking himself, other times he's just hanging on for dear life.
I've done a little research online and found a couple of articles on "sexsomnia" but there's not a lot of info out there dealing with the "why" of it, or whether or not it's a sexual addiction issue.
To be honest, even though I've seen him do it thousands of times, it continues to unnerve me and makes me extremely uncomfortable. If anyone has any feedback on this issue I'd certainly like to hear it.

Ive woken up to my girlfriend humping my leg. If that counts. But like airangel said, never woken up while masturbating. (although Ive woken up with my hand on it.)

Why?
i often fall asleep with my hand on my crotch, or just resting on my mons. i wake up that way too, but i don't think it could be classified as masturbating. i will also spoon anyone laying next to me. i have to warn the people i fall asleep near lol. makes some people very uncomfortable! but i think it's funny. at least i'm not kicking or punching, so could be worse, you know?

Ive heard of people having sex in their sleep. There was someone in like england or something that was aquitted for rape because of it.
Long a ago about 7 months there was a poster who did this in his sleep regularly, older guy about 50-60. His wife used to get mad b/c all the shaking & noise woke her up. Then she learned to accommodate & help him out. Last I knew, she was sleep deprived & the last he sent me they separated...heading for a divorce (other issues in the marriage). If I find it, I'll link it to you...
