All I can say is that I got married to my pregnant girlfriend when she was 16 and I was 17. Now, I am NOT recommending that others get married young, but we celebrated 37 years this year. I have NEVER wished I had "played the field". We are best friends and passionate lovers. We please each other sexually in ways that no one else ever could. I cannot imagine my life without her.

Let's just say that we both worked very hard on ourselves and our relationship. It hasn't been easy, but it has been so worth it!! I am not sure that either one of us was easy to live with in the beginning. One thing that marriage does is show you your own crap. Your either deal with it or the marriage will never last. If there was anything fortunate it was that we both said to ourselves he/she does not need to change...I need to change.

"show you your own crap" - is exactly what playing the field does, only BEFORE you get married. A couple of 'hard falls' tends to straighten people out. Makes marriage easier because you see your partner and yourself more clearly from the start.
