Question of the Day: Infatuation

This is a two part question.

1. What is your personal definition of infatuation?
2. If your mate is talking to a complete stranger of the opposite sex and is fond of their personality is that infautuation or appreciation?

1. infatuation is a sudden obsession with someone you hardly know, and/or the sudden feeling like you love them, when you really don't. Also falls under the terms "lust" and "puppy love".

2. It depends if there's sexual attraction. If it's just fondness of their personality, it could be appreciation and the start of a friendship.

1- To me infatuation is when you are "taken" (much like smitten) with someone. Nothing more nothing less.

2- It would depend on the energy between the two. Appreciation to me is when he is adoring her whole package (brains & body). Whereas, infatuation is when it's more of a sexually driven urge.

Personally, I think infatuation is temporary chemistry. It feels like love with someone you don’t really
know...but think you do.

The second part is hard to say. It would differ from person to person. But I don’t think I’ve ever been
instantly “fond” of anyone’s personality without a physical attraction being the kick off. So I’d say this
scenario is also infatuation.
