Nude beaches and sex

Wife and I are on an extended vacation, very much renewing our acquaintance with each other as we line up to retire (we are both 50 years old). Anyway, we are in Europe and the subject of nude beaches came up, and in particular, my wife has a fond fantasy of covertly having sex on a nude beach....

Personally, I am OK with it and willing to go along, but I most definitely do not want to get in trouble with the authorities if we do decide to go ahead with it. Does anyone have experience with European (as in the Netherlands) nude beaches and whether a degree of relatively discreet sexual activity is tolerated? Or are we risking being tossed out of the country if we undertake a bit of oral sex or gentle penetration even?

While I was in Spain, I went to one ( I was the only idiot who kept their bikini bottoms on--everyone else I was w/wanted to go) and I did not see anyone having sex. Maybe they snuck off to do it?

There are a couple of nudist on this site, I am sure they will give you more of an idea.

yes in spain nudist beaches are very popular...you find them everywhere apparently. i had some spanish friends over once and they found it extremely weird and uncomfortable having to wear swimsuits to the beach!!

Sera300, thanks for the links, they were pretty interesting.

I found it rather surprising that there is a strong differentiation between the camp of "nudist" and the camp of "swinger", with a fair amount of animosity in between. Seems like the nudists want to totally de-sexualize the point that everyone is without clothing, while the "swingers" seem to want nudity as a means for seeking alternative sexual partners.

Since neither apply to us, not sure what exactly we will do. To me, nudity is part of sexual stimulation, but sexual stimulation is not just about nudity.....so we are in the middle of the two camps it seems. Wife and I are both willing to go, likely just to sun tan but if there seems to be others getting into a bit more, we may pursue that as well. I think SPF 45 on the delicate parts may be essential and fun to put on as well!!

I also found it interesting that some of the nudist fears seemed to be uniquely North American, where the concern is that there may be a crackdown on the whole "clothing optional" thing if some prudes complain to the authorities that there is public display of a very human act.

You are welcome; I found it interesting as well, I also never realized there was as such a vast difference. I look at it this way, people sneak sex on public (clothed) beaches, I would think the same holds true for some of the other's as well.

Well. Just got back from the beach, very nice day. About 2 hours of cycling there and back, found the nude beach, a nice place on it and peeled down. Must admit it was very refreshing to be naked on a very nice beach, hearing the waves, gulls circling overhead. Not many people, perhaps another 20 or so couples sunbathing, none closer than about 50 m, so there was a fair bit of privacy.

Anyway, wife was able to get comfortable naked in a public place pretty rapidly, after about 15 minutes or so both us had a degree of arousal and just general heightened feeling of well-being.

Now, in terms of the fantasy....well, it will remain such. There was no issue with privacy, people were not spending any time looking our way and touching was not really even a concern. Two issues though....number one: Sand.

Even with care, in no time we had sand everywhere on pretty well every square inch of our bodies...and since it was warm and we were a bit sweaty, it stuck. In my wife's case, the bit of arousal caused sand to stick in the nether parts, which means any attempt at penetration would have meant PAIN for both of us. Plus I think that people would have noticed....although most people had this cute little "half a pup tent" made of nylon, obviously designed as a wind break....in all cases, they were turned in such a way to limit the view of the people behind them quite a bit, they could have been doing pretty well anything and no one would have seen them.

Second....SUN. After about 45 minutes, we both began to get baked. I am red headed, and I could already start to feel some glow on a few parts. We didn't bring sunblock (its spring, its Northern Europe...who would have guessed we could go sunbathing?) and they did not appear to be selling any anywhere.

I am not sure what the effect of sun is on skin that is almost always covered, but it can't be good. So we stopped. A little stroking for my wife and that was it.

Conclusion? It was a great thing to do, we will most definitely do it again. Next time, there'll be sunblock liberally applied (that could be a fun thing to do for each other) and our sexual activity will be limited to a bit of petting.....we'll do the rest after we wash the sand off!

PS: Oh yeah.....guys....erections are a bit of problem but not a huge one. Most guys were face down most of the time, but once you got up and walked around, distraction and a degree of self conciousness eliminated any problem for me. Main cause was just seeing my lovely wife's parts....

I really enjoyed reading/understanding the differences between the naturalists and the nudists thought processes. It dispelled many misconceptions I had as well. Face it, many of us have done the deed on a beach; however, I thought a nudist beach was an open forum for sexual behavior and found it interesting that there was a push to segregate certain beaches strictly for nude & sexual activity! Initially I thought the two were synonymous which was the point of the one article.

It's also nice to hear married couples who still enjoy and are into each other's company especially since often we "hear" on the board just the opposite!

I know that when I have found a beach and enjoyed sunning naked that it is not a sexual thing I am looking for. A few times I have caught some guy trying to sneak around me and get a peek which is creepy for me and I'm a guy. I understand why women are hesitant to join in because it is probably worse for them. At least at a large clothing optional beach, it doesn't seem to be a problem. I know when I went to Haulover beach, there was an area that gay guys would kind of congregate and then another area that was mostly couples which is the area I felt most comfortable in. I became very comfortable being nude in this setting. Would like to go again now that I am much more comfortable being nude around other people.
